Hello all, I was wondering how much weight every-one had lost so far? Does any-one feel like pasting their total so far, to inspire me? As you know I joined weight -watchers this week and so am at the very beginning of what i predict to be a long journey. Any motivation appreciated.

    Hi everyone,
    Happy Mother's Day.
Having put on a fair bit of weight over the last couple of years I have decided to bite the bullet (a low calorie one of course) and go on yet another diet. As luck would have it, I won a Scottish Slimmers cookbook, which has some nice-looking recipes, but I don't know what the -checks- mean. Can anyone enlighten me please?

    Hi Elaine,

I don't mind telling you that I started at 11 st 3lbs (I'm 5'4" tall) and now weigh under 10 stone although not sure how much as I'm not weighing in for 2 weeks. It took me 9 weeks to get to that point. Hope that motivates you a bit....

    kingarhu,

welcome to the board although I'm not sure what you mean by the checks I'm afraid, can you explain a bit more

    Hi Elaine
I've lost 16lbs since mid January but I am not sticking to hard and fast rules. I'd rather lose it gradually and forever. I have a long road ahead about another 87lbs to get rid of, having this thread helps. So good luck to you and even if you have bad days still post!!

My weekend saga..last nights curry. It was a posh indian place and the portions were small so I didn't share. I enjoyed it.
Mothers Day - Both my kids bought me my favourite chocolates BUT mini pkts so only 6 chocolates in all. I gave them 1 each and 1 to hubby which left me with 3. Can you guess?? 1 for breakfast, 1 for lunch and 1 just now yummy. We are having mac cheese for tea as hubby is cooking -not good - but tomorrow is another day and I am not down on myself as I want to lose this weight sooooooo much that I have to see this weekend as an unavoidable blip and get back on track tomorrow.

Cheekymole So brave...I couldn't do it!
Loopylass ...less to hug but oh so much more energy!!! I'm sure he won't mind!!

Why didn't your OH take the kids to buy you a mother's day pressie so it would be a surprise?
:rotfl: I don't know about ll30, but you obviously missed the lunchtime conversation over our roast chicken with all the trimmings (Sundays aren't a good day) when I was thoroughly ganged up on by all the chaps (3 sons, OH and one other!) on the subject of shopping as an art form in general and pink shoes in particular.

OH take the kids shopping? They'd all rather die.

although in fairness eldest son DID buy me a card which had very nice words in. I then made the mistake of commenting on how lovely the words were, and he promptly said they ALL had soppy and overpriced words in. I think I only got the card because he hasn't been into town since coming home from uni, so when we found ourselves near the shops on our way home from somewhere we both mooched off. I said he'd be able to find me a card, and he did. Meanwhile I found pink shoes. What's a girl to do when she's half looking for a pink washing up bowl and finds two pairs of pink shoes which fit instead? Especially if she's going to NEED new trainers soon AND she's going to a wedding and hasn't got any smart shoes she likes?

No chocolate, which I suppose is a good thing. I've had a lovely massage as my 'treat'. I was given some whole nutmegs at church - other mums got cloves and other spices. Can't help thinking there's a mixed message there ...

I really am hoping that with the longer days I'll get out for walks more often. I don't think I'm eating more than before, but weight loss has pretty much stopped, and I can only think it's because I've been so exhausted. We shall see.
