Cotsvale, please don't be disheartened I know exactly waht you are going through. I severely damaged my back 12 years ago now and all I could do was sit and look at 4 walls. I was a very depressed 24 year old who is extremely independent and hates it when she has to rely on other people for help. One morning I woke up and thought I had to do something. I decided that being on antidepressants and arguing with my very supportive OH was not what I wanted. That's where my life changed.
I am on several painkillers daily but I can now cope with it and I try to let nothing get in my way. I look at others with cancer and life threatening conditions and think how lucky I am to just have pain. I find out on Monday that I now have arthritis in my neck but again, it's just paijn and my body WILL cope with it. So I do know how you feel and you can come out the other side. I'm far too stubborn to let things get the better of me!!!!

Anyway, just to prove it, I lost 2 lbs this week, got slimmer of the week for the 4th time in 8 weeks, got my Club 10 award and my silver body magic award.
How chuffed am I? Well I didn't come out with a red face!!!!!

However, I would just love to do SW. I'm afraid I don't have the will-power to do it on my own and I do enjoy the support of a class. How pathetic is that? :( I am not a very strong person and I get fed up with myself when I see all the self-confident people on here.
Aw well, I think what I was suggesting was going to the Scottish Slimmers classes, but getting extra support from us lot, pinching SW recipes etc. I don't know how different SS is from anything else of course.

But we all have our own way of doing things. And no-one's pathetic because they want face to face support with something. More likely I'm the pathetic one because I SAY I want to lose weight, but not enough to get to a class. Or go to the gym. Or lay off the chocolate. Mind you I am better with the chocolate. Usually. There's a big bar in the cupboard waiting for DH and I to watch tv together, probably last a long while!

And all of us, self-confident? Not sure about that. Mind you maybe we should all add something to our sigs:

Quick check in from my holidays, good to hear all the positive stuff well done to all, I know I am putting on weight here but the food is amazing and the wine is even better.

In my defence I am using my SW tips to keep the damage to a minimum, lots of undressesd salads with my steaks and fish, biggest problem is breakfast, they serve lovely crusty toast with the scrambled eggs and I can't resist it LOL.

Keep up the good work and make up for me being a bit naughty!

2.5 lbs off this week! Yay!

I'm glad it's going in the right direction and i'm still doing really good with the food - trying lots of SW recipes and my body definately doesn't think it's on a diet (and i think my energy level is on the way up!), but a little part inside of me can't help feeling disappointed. Last time i did SW properly it generally came off alot quicker (though i didn't reach my PAT or keep it off for very long due to pressures in my life). I keep telling myself that 2.5lbs is great but a little voice inside of me says 'yes, well, that other in girl in your class lost twice that in one week!'.

Why can't i be happy with what i'm managing? Hopefully when i reach a stone, or other significant milestone, then i'll feel more content. :o

well done on this week's losses! Good luck all.

Well done JenI, 2.5lbs is great. As you said you lost it a lot quicker last time and you put it back on so hopefully by losing more gradually you will keep it off. I felt like that my 1st and 2nd week. I thought I'd lsot a significant amount but only did 1lb in my first week, I was devastated but vowed to continue and glad I did. I've just put on apair of jeans this morning which haven't fit me for a year and now they're too loose!!!!
So keep with it girl and be happy!
