Lose weight 5

Hi Anne
were you going to the gym before or is it as recent ans WW? The reason I'm asking is because you are probably turning the fat into muscle which is heavier (I think) so your weight loss will be slight to begin with.
Keep going with it and you'll soon see a difference. Do you feel any different?I haven't got one!0 -
No, I wasn't going to the gym before- started again in the middle of January, basically I got a new job and moved house about 18 months ago causing me to give up the gym and gain stone and a half - job is now desk bound!!!
I do feel I have more energy and my clothes seem slightly looser but its just so disheartening not to lose the pounds despite having a really strict and radical change to my diet and exercise regime.
I only weigh myself once a week on the same day at the same time, I suppose I'd better give it a bit longer, I kind of hoped the first half a stone would shift quite easily, I suppose I just need to be more patient.0 -
Although muscle weighs more than fat, it takes a lot of time for the difference to show on the scales, but your muscles often retain water when you work them
This might be why the scales are up.Cambridge Weight Plan Consultant0 -
Anne, I always feel much better when my clothes get looser - the proff of the pudding, in my opinionI haven't got one!0

I've been up early and have made a bean and veg soup for tomorrows dinner and a pork and veg caserole for tonights dinner. Feeling quite smug with myself, but also ashamed that I haven't gone in 'The dreaded gym room'.
Brought loads of salad, cottage cheese and fish yesterday. No snackies or rubbish in the house, except that left over tin of xmas chocs...............luckily they are all the one's I don't like!
I'm feeling optimistic

hi
im on ww ive lost 161/2lbs so far its been a struggle but im back on track
the water will help you to lose
try to use up all your points before you get weighed again i made that mistake and wasnt losing much thats why im on no count now its a lot healthier and no weighing a friend who ive got to know through ww is doing a lot of exercise (shes got another 2 stone to lose) and shes fighting for every pound to come off the leader said cut down a bit on exercise because muscle weighs heavier than fat but shes losing inches so it will even out in the end by the way this lady lost 4 stone in 4 months on nc
ive been on nc for 3 weeks and although its a 1 or 2lb a week weightloss its still a loss but i did lose 3lbs last week
my advice is if your doing points then use them up and if your still not re take the quiz(to work out points)are you using bonus points for exercise i never used them but when i was doing points used all my daily points up because if your saving some and doing exercise then you are saving too many points why not try the nc for a few weeks my leader said to me sometimes if shes not losing for a few weeks she goes on nc for a few weeks
good luck i hope this helpsAnne_Onymouse wrote:Hi All
I've been lurking around this thread for some time but haven't had the confidence to post but now I need some guidance about where I'm going wrong!
Started doing weightwatchers on line 5 weeks ago. I'm sticking strictly to my points allowance and in fact often have 12 points banked at the end of the week that I don't spend. I'm going to the gym at least 3 times a week doing a combination of cardio and strength training but I've only lost 3 pounds and nothing at all for the last week!
I've had no sweets, no chocolate, no crisps, no alcohol and still don't seem to be losing fast at all.
My only theory is that I've been re-hydrating my body and I've gone form a hydration level of 37.1% to 42.8%. My sacles tell me a level between 42-50 is right for me. Can the water account for why I don't seem to be losing pounds?0 -
 Hello Everyone
I'm joining SW tonight so I've gone beserk today and eaten non-stop!!! How stupid is that??
Anyway, In readiness, I have already bought cottage cheese (yuk, but hoping to become accustomed to it), loads of fruit & veg, low-cal spray oil & a SW magazine for inspiration!
I was going to join last week but it was snowing too hard to go out. Fortunately (or should that be unfortunately), the weather is better this week.
Seriously though, I need to lose so much weight and I'm fed up of being depressed, refusing to go out because I've nothing suitable to wear, pretending that I don't like buying myself new clothes because I don't want to try them on in case they don't fit and gasping that everytime I get onto the scales, my weight has rocketed
Well, wish me luck for the week ahead - if I could just understand why I keep sabataging (sp?) my efforts, each time I've start a diet, I suppose I wouldn't have any weight to lose
Bye for now:wave:0 -
Just signed up to the SW site .... nice to see progress on a chart
Who's being PM'd all the weight loss for the weekly totals? What day do you want PM's? I weigh myself on Sundays, but don't mind switcing to another day!
Today I will:
Savour each mouth full I eat and actually taste the food that I eat.
Why?
The more you chew and savour ... the less you scoff and devour!
What will you do today?I can say whatever I like here ... 'cos no one can see me .. ner ner ner ner ner !!!....How do you know I ain't sitting here butt naked?!?!I thunk I've made you think for a minute!:j :rotfl: :j0 -
Good luck Chris (and everyone else!).
I'm not a fan of of cottage cheese myself but find it useful for bulking things like baked beans on a baked potato (i like to mix the beans and cheese to create a gloopy but delicious mess) and in SW friendly quiches (yum). There's plenty of free foods to choose from so don't force yourself onto the icky ones!
Hope your class is lovely.
Ally - my little goal at the moment is to get some menus at restaurants near the cinema i'm going to on thursday night so i can take the boyf out for a meal without feel guilty! Enjoy the savouring!0
