Don't be put off by your blow out yesterday - put that down to one day off track and get back onto it today - you seem to be of that frame of mind too - the worst thing that you (or anyone for that matter) can do is let one bad day roll into another, to another.... One day off won't hurt - you realised your mistakes and thats the main thing.
I for one think you are doing well, the change in tone of your messages from earlier in the week are so much more positive and I admire you for turning it round - you stick at it! How about a banana and a yogurt to fill you up after your noodles - I'm starting to develop monkey like tendencies (sp?) I've eaten that many bananas this week :rotfl: off now to swing on some branches.....!0 -
Hi all,
i think i joined here a few months ago,not sure though, joined too many, but i am always here reading other peoples success stories.

i have the books, green days ,red days......other peoples recipes.....wahhhhhhhhh i need help plsssss.
I also tend to finish off my son's dinners.....can't seem to stop that.
I weigh 12 stone 4.Am 5ft 5 in. and a size large 16.
PLS HELP.
Thank you.0 -
Malima, first of all, welcome along.
I too am doing SW. I was mortified with myself just after Christmas when I got on the scales and decided that this time (having done it on my own last) I would join a class.
I hate wasting money and therefore by joining thew class I was far more determined to succeed. I have lost weight gradually each week and feel far better for it.
I know that you can do it too. Take each day at a time and soon you will find it a lot easier. I have a major sweet tooth but after the first couple of days, it slides away. I have a 2 finger kitkat as my daily chocolate fix.
I'm veggie and therefore stick to green days, loads of pasta and SW chips!
Can you make your son smaller portions so that HE eats it all instead of you?
Are you a member of SW now? How do you find the class? Are they supportive?
I love going to class, it gives me something to aim for each week.
Aim to treat yourself every time you lose say 1/2 stone or so and soon you'll be notching up the stones.
Focus your mind and do your best, if you go off track one day, don't give up just try harderI haven't got one!0 -

Hi Malima, and welcome! You've made the first step in the right direction by posting here so well done!
Try not to think of SW as being on a diet, more of a change to eating habits. I do have a sweet tooth and that's my downfall. I try to visualize what i want to eat - when I know its something that I shouldn't be eating - eg mars bar and imagine it stuck somewhere to me. Believe me, the vision of 3 mars bars stuck to my rear end and on my hips are enough to have me reaching for a banana or a muller light (they are free on SW!)
With regards to your sons dinners, use the same principal and get the plate scraped into bin as quickly as you can - I've heard of some people squirting it with washing up liq as soon as their child has declared it unwanted.
Take it in slow steps as cheekymole says - set small achievable targets because they will be easily reached and that will spur you on more.
You will get plenty of support on here - we aren't a bad lot!
Good Luck X0 -
I have been getting advice by PM from cheekymole[she is SO helpful] so now that I've got my basic questions answered, here's another!
I see reference to sw chips but can't find them on the sw board. Just what are they?

oh, SW chips - they are great!
Peel your potatoes and slice into chips (you can do wedges or cubes as well)
Par boil them for about 5-10 mins. transfer to a baking sheet that has been sprayed with fry light and spray some fry light over the potatoes (i often pat dry the chips with some kitchen roll). Transfer to a very hot oven until they start to brown and crisp up - delicious. So quick and so easy and the beauty is they are free on a green day. I love them!!0 -
Oh yes, just had them for tea with beans on top and 42g of half fat cheddar (oh and loads of vinegar)
Yum yum, a full tummy for another few hoursI haven't got one!0 -
Hi Malima, the other thing you have to tell yourself about your son's unwanted dinners - although the other tips are great as well - that it is just as much a waste of food on your hips as it is in the bin!
I know it is really hard if you have always been brought up to leave a clean plate - even if the plate is someone else's it offends me if there's too much left on it! :rotfl: but you have to get that message into your head.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Thanks guys,
I am starting tommorrow!!!(heard it before!)
As cheeky mole says, i think i will aim for the 1/2 stones...then treat myself,my husband has given up on me,(have been dieting for 10 yrs),he use to promise me wee treats for every stone etc,but...........i WILL do it.......and i will post here every week or as often as i can, even if i gain.
Thank you all for being here!!!!
Great thread!!! :T0
