hi all ive had a read through the posts and must say, im inspired to give it a go now, after feeling like giving up after reading all the other things on here i got myself soo confused!
would anyone be able to help me, i had a £60k loan taken out with G.E money in 2006 and settled the account a cpl of years ago, i phone them up as i dont have any of the paperwork and they gave me the account no and date i took it out, and i also have the settlement figure, so what letter do i send to them? do i still need to request the t & c's? if not what do i send??
i have a current credit card with monument that has now been cancelled by them, but im still repaying it, £500 limit, so i have most of my statements and account no ect, what do i send to them?
also.. i had car finance with black horse (organised by car craft) appx 5-6yrs ago again dont have any of the paperwork and when i rang them they couldnt find anything on the system, so i was going to send the letter to them with as much info as poss, car make, model, reg, where it was brought.
really hope you can point me in the right direction, i am new on here and have posted in another forum too. xx0 -
Hi and welcome
If you want to request as much info on your accounts, this is the correct thread here to request for your details, the SAR letter template is on the first page of this actual thread.
But to make a reclaim, you pursue the ones who set up and sold you the policy from the start, there is a reclaiming questionnaire on stage one here:
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance#reclaim
Complete and send to whoever responsible.
Keep copies of all you send and receive, in case you need to refer to this at some point.
They do have 8 weeks, some may ask for more time, however, if you hear absolutely nothing at all from them, not even an acknowledgement by 8 weeks, then make a complaint to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS).
Hope this helps, good luck.:)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Can someone please confirm the minimum amount of information required for a SAR request?
I wrote to Tesco Loans 10 days ago with address at the time the loan was taken out and address when the loan was paid off. In addition I attempted to be helpful by providing the ending digits of the loan agreement that were on my credit report. Today they have replied stating that the account number is incomplete (I knew this I was trying to be helpful) and that they couldn't process the request.
I'll respond but this time be less helpful and just give them the minimum

Hi Paul,
Sorry if i have mis read, the more details you can provide the better, as it makes it easier for them to track down your account information.
All the better if you do have the full account number, but if you haven't then try to give them as many other details, full name, addresses you lived in whilst you had this account, date of birth and the year you taken this out.
Good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi there
A SAR is the one you use to request all information/documents on your account(s) with Lloyds, but this is optional.
You use the reclaiming questionnaire, this replaced the template letter, complete and send to the address below, they have 8 weeks to give a decision, if they have ignored your complaint by then and/or receive a rejection by the final decision, you can then make a complaint to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS).

I would also post by recorded delivery as well if you can, good luck and please keep us posted, cheers.;)

Hi there
Delete what you do not require, and tweak it to your own circumstances, that will be fine.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
