Halifax reward account online now, and the old accounts....

I am confused.
I already have a normal "Current Account" with the Halifax. As well as a Variable Websaver and a Reward Websaver.
Can I just open three Reward Current Accounts, or can I only open two, and I have to ask them to convert my standard Current Account to a Reward Current Account? Or can I do either? Also how would one go about getting BOS Reward Current Accounts, just apply on their website too?Can you do that and get it to show up on the Halifax online banking
The tend to limit you to a total of 3 current accounts in total under the two brands (e.g. 2 x Halifax and 1 x BOS).
That said, I've got 4 :rotfl:.0 -

How?
You got three new ones and then converted an existing account?
YorkshireBoy will be interested to know.

As far as online banking goes it seems to make no difference which brand your account is at, you can log in on either the BOS or the Halifax websites and see the same account regardless.
Does a similar thing apply in all other regards, such as in brick branches? i.e can you operate a BOS current account in Halifax branches exactly the same?
Has anyone been turned down for a current account with them, if so what reason i.e poor credit refs, unemployed, low income, etc?0 -

Current accounts is no problem - you can use Halifax accounts in BOS branches or BOS accounts in Halifax branches. As Opinions4U said above, they are actually identical accounts, the only difference being the branding.0 -
I applied for my 4th halifax account, and 2nd reward account and got declined.0

I have some questions for those who have opened a Reward account online ...
In cases where you've had an instant decision (i.e. not told to expect a letter in 7/14 days), has the account been active and ready to use instantly? Or have you had to wait until you've signed & returned a form received through the post?
Is there the option on the online application to decline a card and/or cheque book? (Neither of which are useful if only using the account to get an extra fiver.)
Many thanks in advance for any answers0 -

There is an option to say no to a cheque book but there is no option not to have a debit card.Kavanne

I notice Martin is provoking material for the Forums by slipping bits of misleading data into the weekly Email.
On the subject of this account :-then Halifax’s new Reward account pays you £5 each month, providing you’re paying your salary in (min £15,000) even if you only keep £1 in
...... that should add a further 5000 posts! In particular from those opening these by the bucket full.
Working on the premise the T&Cs form the contract. As their other Current Accounts ... it merely stipulates the £1000 monthly minimum (to receive the £5 net) must be 'paid'.If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -
And I don't think it says you need to even keep £1 in the account either...Kavanne

So for those told to wait for up to 14days. what is the implication. Is this backlog or purely due to their credit score etc...maybe a slower manual review???0
