managed to get lunch break and pay money into one of the accounts, and the cashier said that shes opened loads for customers and they dont need to keep any money in the reward account and they get the £5 every month and the reward is ongoing. she also said when my 0% cc expires close it down and i can open a new one 0% purchase for 15mnths.

now all i need to do is try and get ebanking because she had a queue and was trying to get me to take out a loan and i needed to get back to work.

Did everybody know Halifax is offering a new Websaver Reward account to add to the reward range, in return for a maximum of 3 withdrawls a year you get the fixed rate of 1% for a year. I have opened one in case base rate goes to zero. but most of my web savings will go in the Yorkshire Building Society Varilable rate account with cashcard which offers currently a higher rate . I will be keeping a eye on the rates.

Better still, if you have £2500, and will be putting £1k/month through the current account, they've got a Guaranteed Saver Reward which gives four withdrawals and gives a fixed rate of 2.5% for a year. Like the web saver, you can put more money in through the year, and it'll all get the fixed rate.

I went into the branch today to get my 3rd account changed to reward too and got roped into a review. Great. All the cashier said was 'do you hav a few minutes to do that now?' (re: redesignating my account to reward, no mention of any other review)

then 'katy' the 'customer service advisor' tried to get me to take the ultimate reward and asked who my mortgage was with. However, she gave me the wrong info about a credit card. I said can I have a 2nd credit card? she said yes, but as I already have a One card it would need to be a charity one.

Oh right, I said, what's the purchase offer on that one? '6 months interest free', well, really I am looking for 12 but would settle for 9. And what do I see when I check the halifax website tonight? That card DOES offer 9 months on purchases! lol So if katy had kept her product knowledge up to date she could have gotten a credit card out of me. Oh dear.

To be fair to 'Katy', that's a (very?) recent change. If memory serves, it had been 6 months for a very long time.

Working in exactly the same job as Katy I cannot forgive her. Product knowledge is one of your most important tools. I would never give any incorrect information to a customer, even if I am 100% sure of an interest rate or condition I would always check on the intranet or internet before giving that information to the customer

As this was face to face she could EASILY have bought up the website to SHOW me all the features and benefits whilst confirming the current offer. 'Here is what we can offer you Miss. Kavanne, what are you looking for from a credit card at the moment?' but no, a poor review by all accounts.

Agreed, I work with customer too, if anything like this, I mean giving wrong information out by just carelessness the person (Katy) will be instantly sacked. :naughty:
