If you are renting now you are in the same position as a first time buyer, and you would be classed as a first time buyer, you might have a large deposit but your position is exactly the same as a first time buyer with a large deposit.
Not exactly because we are still paying the mortgage on our old house up north and that gets redeemed when we exchange on this one.
Either way technically you are really only a first time buyer once you have a mortgage offer in hand. It's not easy having a good time. Even smiling makes my face ache.0 -

Not only that but we got a letter last month saying they found a second buyer for our old house that is getting it at about 2/3 of what we paid for it so we are extremely lucky to have moved when we did.
you must be a different person to who posted this then?;)

The solicitor has already got his searches done and he is only waiting for some copies of things from the vendors solicitors before we exchange.
We have a very good IFA and phone the solicitor regularly however he also keeps in touch via email so that is probably moving it along a bit too.

Wickedkitten - its pointless - he likes to be controversial - quote old posts - argue the point to death. He knows very little and owns one half of a house which is dropping in value daily.
Has delusions about buying BTL properties and own 2 homes, his wife even disagrees with him.
If you read most of his posts he goes on and on arguing every small point.
Carry on doing what you are doing he will still be talking about doing things forever.0 -
