contacting manager who i have meeting with today and canceling untill iv spoken to CAB and ACAS and i will be taking someone with me after getting over the shock of everything i have realised i should have taken someone yesterday, it shouldnt have been in a public food court open for anyone to hear.
he has lied about the other staff member being seen at table with me as iv got a whitness that says she was with her whole time prepping food so i will be contacting the centre i work at and asking to see cctv i remember what time i was on my break
i am contacting subway head office monday morning and explaining everything they are trying to cover something i kow this cus my boss is totally off the hook now maybe they would be interested knowing she has fiddled the safe as it was missing money but now shes fiddled it it shows as even.
i still cant believe my so called friend (boss) is doing this to me
Try not to worry, we are here to support you.0 -
In this kind of situation the manager/boss is usually suspended for gross misconduct pending an investigation. If the money isnt recovered then the manager is sacked, in most cases. If the CCTV doesnt show the money under the desk or you taking it while you were there then you have nothing to worry about, make sure while you are suspended they still pay you.0

It may seem a slightly trivial point at the moment, but if any further action is taken against you by your employer, it sounds unlikely that they have followed any sort of procedure regarding instigating suspension which is, effectively, disciplinary action.
I would request a copy of the employees handbook which should lay down the procedures that have to be followed if a member of staff is suspended. This is a document which is required by Employment law.
The way they have dealt with this sounds completely farcical. As someone else mentioned, unless they actually have you on camera or a witness seeing you take the money, there isn't even a preponderance of evidence.
I would say "stop worrying", but I that isn't going to happen!
Good luck and do keep us updated.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
I agree with careful with that axe. Considering beneath a desk is not an official place to leave £2000 and that your boss was not sure it was even at home I would be wanting to speak to head office before the boss.0

From what I understand-most Subways are now franchised and the managers arrange to do their own banking-I think the bloody manager should be under investigation....not you! What a cheeky !!!!!!!!
I really do feel for you, but you must seek legal advice, at the end of the day, the manager needs to prove
1) That there was actually £2000 in takings in the first place
2) Justify why this wasn't banked (who in their right mind leaves £2000 under a desk unsecured and goes home-that's negligent in itself)!
3) The CCTV would prove you never took it and would view your actions for the whole morning. Unless the CCTV can show you actually stealing the money-then there is no evidence to prosecute you-at worst you could be arrested on suspicion if theft, but without any evidence, the police are legally bound to release you without charge.
I just think that it hard for you to think rational when this is happening to you but lets face it, your manager is clearly an idiot!! Resign on the grounds of Constructive Dismissal and Harrassment and then when the investigation is over-take the manager/company to a tribunal when you are proved innocent!!
I think the manager is in more poo than you, hence why she didn't ring the police right away! She sounds like a right lemon! I can imagine her call to her regional manager now.....
''Hello, yes it's the Manager here from Subway in Anytown, I'm afraid I have some bad news, I had takings of £2000 yesterday and I didn't take them to the night safe at the bank or even bank them during the day so I thought I would just leave it under the desk until tomorrow (as the manager thinks in her head....best not tell my regional boss that I usually take the takings home in my handbag), even though there are two other members of staff starting at 8am who had no idea the money was under the table. So yes, now the money is missing and I think they took it from under the table''
So any decent RM would say ''well why didn't you bank the takings Mrs Store Manager or lock them in a safe''
Idiot Manager ''well, I thought it would be best to just leave it in the store and bank it the next day''
I know if I told my manager that on the phone it would be followed by a swift...click....brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr and a dead line-then a nice chair in her office the next day for suspension. Your Manager is a fool if she thinks she'd going to get off scot free!
Oh and in conclusion-who balanced the £2000 in the first place-I guess it is takings from the till-who did that......I bet it wasn't you or your colleague was it? If the answer is no then the onus lies on the person who last handled the cash! and then didn't bank it I guess!Loan-£3600 only 24 months of payments to go!!!
All debt consolodated and cards destroyed!!
As D'Ream would sing 'Things.....can only get better'!!!0 -
just on phone to ACAS now, an employee who is good friend of mine has rang me saying he got into work and my boss told him everything! even showed him my statment! and he says its been changed someone has wrote on it that i put delivery away and went for a fag! i dont even smoke!!!i will get there!:beer:0

Hopefully ACAS will be able to give you some good adviceWeight Loss - 102lb0 -
All I can say is that IF... £2000 was under the desk you would have to bend down to pick it up. (Unless you are very flexible and can do amazing things with your feet ) The cctv will show you bending to pick it up and conceal it somewhere.
It will also show the boss putting it there unless he slid it across the floor from another room.
Get onto Head Office and ask them to come and look at the tapes asap.0 -
Is he the franchise owner or just the shop manager ? If the latter it sounds very suspicious to me.What idiot leaves £2,000 under a desk ?You need to contact the police NOW.They will recover all cctv and check bank accounts, credit cards etc.0

I noticed you say 'given statements to my boss's boss'.It sounds like the shop manager is pulling a stunt.0
