    Good afternoon all!

Happy birthday Jackie, what a lovely inspiring post, and what a lovely lovely family you have xx

Well having spent the morning lazing around in bed reading, I then went to tackle dd2 and dd3's room, argh is the best word! Many black sacks later and I'm still not done! It's horrible in there, but needs to be sorted before friends arrive next weekend!

Not much else done, pots, hoovering and lunch cooked, need to throw some stuff in the BM and get some washing on, but that'll be it! Going to enjoy a cuppa and a catch up here before I go back to tackle the room from hell!

    Hugs to all xx

Well we went for a walk this afternoon. We went round to get the TV Choice and test how slippy it was......it was ok so we set of for a walk round the estate. most of the pavements were clear where the sun had hit them, but the one down the side of the unit does not get the sun until late in the afternoon, so it is still very icy, its easier to walk on the road.

Decided not to go to Aldi today, have enough spuds for tonights supper. I want to go to the fabric warehouse tomorrow so can go to Aldi on the way back......two birds........one stone.

Nothing really OS done today....OH has been alright so far.......still no appointment from the hospital............

My feet are lovely and warm, I still have my thermal walking socks on...pity I cannot get my slipper on though........

Sun is still belting in through the window, it must be warm the ehating has switched off and temperature has gone up in the sitting room.

When I was in Aldi last week I got a pot of 3 primulas half price, I know they are supposed to go outside, but I have them on the table, they smell lovely, once they go over I will put them outside. We are going to move more of the pots down from the allotment this summer, have a bit bigger display by the front door. Might bring the lilies down as well, I love to cut one stalk and bring it into the house. The smell.....wonderful. There is another hosta that could come down too.

Well done Miss Tru - good news on the job front.
MSD - so pleased to hear the news about Tristan, and that you've been able to chat with him again.
Found a pizza in the freezer for lunch and it'll be spag.bol. later on. Granary loaf in the BM currently.
have been tidying up today - amazing how much mess two adults can create without any help from little people!
Hope you are all having a good day. Thoughts and ((HUGS)) for all feeling depressed, anxious, unwell, worroied or sad today.

Mioliere, that pudding sounds gorgeous, thanks for the recipe, I always miss the magazine at Summerfield, don't go in there much. I was just thinking when I read your earlier post, I wish your DH lived near us we can't get tradesmen here and we have jobs to do.
Diva , great to hear about Tristan, sending love.
Jackie, have a wonderful birthday, your post was lovely. I'm having another clear out soon so shall remember you.
Sybil, I have sent you a PM.
Reduced pork for dinner tonight, and homemade trifle, yum.
I'm not functioning so well so hugs to everyone.
    Have a nice evening.

    Good afternoon everyone!

JackieO - have a VERY happy birthday. :bdaycake: You definitely deserve it! Isn't your DGS sweet?

Penny Pincher!! - caring (((hugs))) to you.

DH and I walked the 1 mile into the middle of our little town. As someone else said, it was hard going! It felt as though we'd done more than one mile each way. The Co-op was the only shop with any milk, and therefore it was the only shop with a massive long queue. DH braved it though. Meanwhile, I was checking out the 2nd hand book stall that they always have there in aid of the British Heart Foundation, so I got a D ick Francis book for 50p.

DH has finished another book, so I've put that on www.readitswapit.co.uk I think I need another sort out as our pile of books is getting a little too high. I got a duplicate book for Christmas, so I think that it will be great for SIL's birthday present along with some free smellies.

Speaking of birthdays, it's DH's niece's 2nd birthday party today. We're leaving for there at half time in the rugby!!! Her presents were bought online and nectar points were gained (from Amazon!).

Lunch today was chilli con carne, left over from the other night as we are hoping to be fed at this party!!!

Many happy returns to JackieO - glad you are feeling so happy.

I am a bit annoyed as my downstairs heating has now given up (the upstairs circuit went a couple of weeks ago). I think it's a similar problem and will cost £70 to put right. Maybe I'd be better spending that on a plastic coal bunker thingy, a grate (it's a new house, never did get around to buying one!), a poker and shovel etc and heating downstairs the old fashioned way. I'll have to price everything up on Monday. At least the situation is keeping my consumption of heating oil down, not that I use much of it anyway.

Beemuzed - I live on my own and to be blunt my house is the untidiest and most embarrassing one I have ever been in!! I'm sure your house isn't half as bad especially now you've had a run round and put some things away. I have three cats and they aren't generally untidy though today Dylan ran off with a nearly empty loo roll and shredded it all over the bedroom floor. Of course I just laughed, so no wonder the house is a kip.

Suppose I should get off my big bottom and go and do something.

    Be good everyone.

I too enjoyed my walk into town, it was cold but only one icy stretch, the town itself is clear.

Got my library books 6 to read and one to learn from lol, its the Frugal Cook, seems like I'm only the second person to take it out.

Got back and house was all quiet. SD was still in bed. Rang OH and aparently it was me that was supposed to ring at 10.30 to wake her. OOOOPS.

Haven't done any baking yet, one of the books sorta fell into my lap and demanded to be read. OH is still at work, that didn't go down too well either, SD had to WALK into town. Shes back now and I can hear the doodle oodle oop of MSN coming from her room. Have asked her if she wanted to do some baking with me but I got one of those really scarey teenage looks, so guess thats a no then :rotfl:
am going to have a read on here then I guess it will be time to put the dinner on (or tea as they call it up here)
Hope you all have a good evening xxx

Mrs MW - My DH is very good at the work he does and I can thoroughly recommend him! I've often thought that we could all help each other if we lived in one big community! Just think about the collective skills we and our families all have.

Well, I sat down and promptly fell asleep, waking up an hour later and being just a little too scared to look at the stew which is cooking. It was fine, though, and just needed a top up from the kettle.

The sun is beautiful today so I hope you have all had some, too.

Snowy - I hope you get some heating sorted out - it's so cold everywhere, isn't it?

    Well, time for another cuppa.

    See you all later.

s0zqmc.gif JackieO. Have a lovely day. (just read your great post, what an inspiration!)

Afternoon :hello: another sunny but very cold day. This morning went to local shops, then delivered presents to niece whose birthday it is tomorrow and she told me story of a very stressful bus journey home from work earlier in the week. As they got on (only 3 passengers) the young driver said he ought to warn them it was his first time driving on/in snow, they proceeded on their journey but even with careful driving at almost walking pace they still skated round corners and came down hills sideways finally arriving safely, if somewhat shell-shocked, 2 hours later. :T

Hope everyone is keeping safe and warm, hugs to those who need them and furry purrs to the pets.

    Happy birthday to Jackie O
, what an inspiration you are. May you enjoy your day an may it bring you the pleasures you deserve.

Sunnygirl - have been reading your posts and just want to say that you have a big heart. Glad it seems to be working ok with dd bf.

Its cold here again but thankfully the snow has been gone for yonks. Was only here for 1day of which I am grateful. Went to Mr M today (with my brothers staff discount card) only to see that some of the tinned veg is dearer than Mr T and that is with the discount !! Got some mozzarella to go on pizza bases (4 x mini Napolini ones from Home Bargains for 39p) and am having a go at making my own, seeing as you all make it sound so easy. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Cleaned house top to bottom and had the wm on twice today. Some stuff on the line but I don't think it will have dried off much but something is better than nothing I suppose.

Stepmum has been causing ructions again. I feel so stressed with all the grief she is causing. I just wish she would let us grieve for the father we have recently lost. Why are people so uncaring at times like this? I am trying to not worry too much about the situation but am finding that my sleep and daily way of thinking is affected. Anyway, enough waffling, off to make some pasta and mini pizzas for me and DH. Have a nice evening one and all.

:grouphug: Group hug to all who need them. Here's to a warmer tomorrow.
I got there - I'm debt free and intend to stay that way. If I haven't got the cash, it doesn't get bought. It's as simple as that.
