    Morning all,

Well we had a bit more snow last night, if fact for about an hour it was a blizard, but it stopped so we have a small covering, which will melt today as the sun is out and its a beautiful day, I have two loads of washing to do, one in in, and one waiting, I will put them on the line today :T .

DD is off out with her dad for the day, she is sitting a science test next week to see which of the girls in her school are able to do tripple science as an option, I do hope she passes it as she needs tripple science for her career choice, anyway she needs a list of items to take into the exam  so i will send the list out with her dad, ;)

OH and I will get out walking with little dog, will take a picnic lunch and a flask of coffee and pick a nice spot to sit and eat.

Tea tonight will be fish based, I have some smoked salmon left over from xmas in the freezer which I will take out, I also have some value prawns, and half price crab terrine, which we will have with soda bread and salad, dd will have fishcakes. So a nice and easy tea for a saturday.

Jackie, Happy Birthday sweetheart :bdaycake: your lovely post made me cry too, what a wonderfull woman you are, I would love to meet you, and give you a big hug and raise a glass with you, Instead I will raise a glass to you tonight  , enjoy your day with your lovely family, I had a peek at the pressie that Nelski bought you, If you don't like it I can take it off your hands ;):D

Hugs to Penpin, Sybil and anyone in need.

Diva, how nice to be able to talk to Tristan hugs to you both xx

Have good days all, and keep warm xx

    Good Morning everybody! :hello:

Happy birthday JackieO :bdaycake: Your post made me cry. I hope you have a fantastic day, you deserve it :grouphug:

Huge hug to all the poorly people :grouphug: Diva, pass my love on to Tristan. It sounds like he's improving!

Anyone planning to go out - Tru, I'm talking to you - BE CAREFUL! And DON'T go out in the really bad weather unless you absolutely have to. Pen-pin, It's sad that you couldn't visit your friend after all that, but I'm sure she understands.

Halight - have fun at the farmers' market!

Not much planned here today, I'm still feeling a little unwell and it's too cold and icy to go out and actually do stuff. I think I will use the opportunity to sort out all of my Avon stuff and call my reps to see how they're getting on. My manager passed me a load of leads yesterday to hopefully extend my team. And her manager is organising a 'boot camp' for sales leaders, I have heard that they are very demanding but also very rewarding, but there are only ten places for the entire division. I think I would like to give it a shot, so I will start working on what to put on my application.

As always on a Saturday Dave has decided he wants a full English brunch, we have eggs and I'm defrosting the last of my mega-whoopsied bacon and sausages for it. We'll have toast and almost-hash-browns (I make my own by grating a ton of potatoes, adding a little onion, shaping and then batch-cooking before freezing - to be honest they aren't anything like the shop-bought ones but they are tasty enough, and they're cheaper and not jammed with preservatives, so who cares?!) Dave will have baked beans as well (I can't, I'm allergic). It's not the cheapest, but it makes him happy after a working week, and it's not that extravagant when it's all whoopsied. Plus it keeps us going right through til tea time. Dave has said he'll cook it  Dinner is roast lamb shoulder (given to me cheap by my butcher as he needed to sell it and most of his customers only want the leg), it's huge and should do us two or three days at least.

Garden Organic sent me the seeds for their seed trial, I am getting impatient for the snow to melt now, even though these latest seeds don't need sowing for a few months! The ones I sowed indoors the other day are doing brilliantly, some of them may need transplanting to pots this weekend :j

Hope everyone has a good day, wrap up warm if you're off out xxxx

Mioliere, sorry that your OH's going through such a bad time work-wise :grouphug: It sounds as though you are at least managing to stay calm and rational when considering jobs rather than panicking and accepting everything even if it's not going to make you better off. I do hope things pick up soon. Hang in there, he'll get through it xxx
  • Morning all,

Still laptop-less while it’s back for its second stay at computer hospital, & really missing not being able to log on from the comfort of my bed in a morning!!

Just about to start typing my letters for the office, then this afternoon will be a cleaning/tidying one. Also got 4 small packs of value sliced carrot YS’d in Asda Thursday, so they will become lunchtime carrot soup. Youngest DD wants to make lasagne for dinner so I’ll be showing her how to make the cheese sauce from scratch herself (I usually do that bit & she makes the mince & assembles it all). But today I have the luxury of a lazy weekend (finished my first essay, having a rest before starting the second), so will be good to potter in the kitchen with her later. For a 12 year old I think she’s becoming a better (more interested) cook than the older two.

Happy Birthday JackieO!! Hope you have a lovely day & get spoiled rotten, you certainly deserve it J Also belated birthday wishes to Churchmouse too – hope you also had a great day.
MSD, that’s such good news about Tristan – I think there’s definitely something to be said about mind over matter, and positive thinking. I am also drooling having just read your baking list – mmmmmmmm…….
PenPin, hope the nurse has been & you feel a bit better now. Sometimes having a good blub helps to get it out. And good luck to your OH too!!!!!
Tru, I wouldn’t go out if you’re able not to – stay snuggled up safe & relax at home.
Sybil – you keep posting!!!! I feel I have got to know Little Bear (and you!) now, so you have to stay!
TiredMum, having the whole bed to yourself – what a luxury, lol!!!! Enjoy J Still squirming at the thought of the epilator…. Ouch!!!!
Redruby – we haven’t got any snow?!?! Although I think there may have been a few flakes wafting in the air when I was driving the streets at gone midnight looking for middle DD….
Silvercharming, now you’ve got me thinking about big breakfasts… I did have toast & peanut butter earlier, not quite the same though is it?!

(((((((Hugs))))))))) for all those having tough times, especially those worrying about work and jobs. Sending out positive thoughts for you all, my OS friends.

Jackie0 - :bdaycake: :bdaycake: :bdaycake: :bdaycake: you had me going, too. You're a wonderful lady who deserves the very best that life holds. Have a truly fantastic birthday.

Silvercharming - thanks for your thoughts.

We have no snow, blue sky and brilliant sunshine, but I think we must be the only part of the UK to be so lucky. It's very cold but I am certainly not complaining about that. I hope you are all coping, especially those who are unwell.

Well, I've prepped for the stew and just have some written work to get on with, then I shall take a trip up to the local shops to get the paper and maybe visit the charity shop.

    Will see you all later.

    Will be back later.
  • Good morning all,

JackieO May you have a wonderful birthday and year to come. You are so inspiring and your post truly made me thing of all the things I have to be grateful for today. Thanks for being just who you are... a wonderful lady.

Diva What wonderful news about Tristan. Prayers and good thoughts do work miracles indeed.

Churchmouse Happy belated birthday to you. I'm sorry I missed the actual day. Hope you had a lovely day and that it continues through the year for you.

DH and I are heading out in a few moments just to have a wander around today. Little furchild Bree is not a happy girl. She's trying to guilt daddy into taking her with us. Some fun playtime when we get back for her, if she doesn't destroy the flat first. :rotfl:

I've pulled YS cod out to thaw for our tea tonight. Not sure how I'm fixing it yet but will figure it out eventually. Some veg and more choc fudge pudding cake for afters and we're set.

(((((((((((((((OS'ers))))))))))))))))) May today bring you sunshine within, hope and good things. Thinking of and praying for you all.

    Peyton xx

ooooooeeeerrr, I think I'm in for a telling off from you lot - I went out :D I was out for an hour and 20 mins  The shop is no more than a mile away (less than that, I think) but the pavements are lethal so I walked on the road where I could. I feel great now, and I can actually breathe through my nose :D

Came home to an answerphone message, miss tru has finally been offered a job :T It's temporary part-time, but may lead to permanent with a few more hours :j

Well the animals are rioting in the kitchen, I'd better finish cleaning them out
