Hi guys
I feel so crap thinking about all our debts hardly going down due to intrest charges. Im fed up with renting. Im fed up with not having any holiday (been 2 yrs since our last short UK break)
I have 2 small children and married to dh who works 48 hour week. I hardly see him which isnt helping. I pay the bills as I work from home so can keep an eye on finances.
But Im feeling something needs to change. I would work more but cant as my younges is only 2 yrs old.
I cant stop thinking of ourselves in 10 yrs time, still renting, crap car,no holiday, and still bills. Our kids will be so ashamed of us as parents
Please tell me there will be a happy ending?? DH isnt home from work till 8pm either so really need some suport before I crack.
Oh and were having beans on toast for the 3rd time this week too..Great!

I've just written this somewhere else but kids don't care whether they live in a rented house or not, or whether they get nice holidays. Kids just need love and attention for them to be happy. So don't beat yourself up so much.
If you are struggling to pay debts then we on here can help with that. It could even lead to your creditors stopping interest. Care to post an SOA?

Hi
It would be worth you doing a SOA to see if we can help you anywhere. Have you checked if you are getting all the benefits you are entitled to, try entitledto.com0 -

Don't think about moving house yet - post an SOA and let's have a look at your income and outgoings. My Debt Free Diary I owe:

Are you able to post a Statement of Affairs (SoA) ,there's a link at the top of the DFW page0

I used to feel like that somedays. But making a plan is very theraputic as it puts you back in control. Have you made a housekeeping budget on a weekly basis? Menu planning? Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

Hi
Factor in the cost of moving and think about schools as well.
based on your sig, you are actually doing really weel, but maybe you need to refresh things a bit?
If the food is getting monotonous, go over to the Money Saving Old Style forum and check out oher options there.
If you have not had a holiday, would a house swap be possible this year?
When that Platinium card clears, can you do a balance transfer from the Mastercard?
What do you need to do before next year, to reenter the job market?
Have you checked the Boost your income thread? If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
I think we are all very good at giving ourselves a hard time. i bet your kids are fine and are not bothered about the things you feel your failing them on.
and i agree beans on toast is ace.
i ate nothing but pasta for a week cos it was near payday and i was skint.
as long as they have been fed im sure they are grateful for what they are being given
dont be so hard on yourself:mad: sometimes my debt panics me..... EVEN after 4 years or so.
I will be free in less than three years with a trust deed - my only option as debt management was taking too long0 -
Hey Sugarpants...I think everyone has those days however just take a look at your figures in your sig. You're certainly moving in the right direction so keep your chin up and to re-iterate what MyLastFiver said, your kids outlook won't depend upon your financial situation, it'll depend on the love and attention you're able to give them that'll count!Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 1129 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!

Thanks guys for the posts about the kids..Youre right looking at them they never moan about the house. All they moan about is maybe no being able to go to Butlins,Pontins etc *sad*
I posted SOA a while back and did loads of changes which helped us SO MUCH! Dont think there is much else we can change.
I limit our food shopping to £45 a week. So hard but were doing it.
Cant do houseswap dont think our landlord would like strangers in his house tbh. Great idea though thanks anyway.
The barclaycard platinum only has £660 limit on it. So could transfer some money over eventually I guess but will take months to clear yet.
I just seem to end up with nothing after all the bills have been paid, rents been taken out, food shop been done, council tax paid...ANYONE ELSE FIND THIS?
We get child tax credits (not alot) and normal child benefit (not alot! haha).
I tried to claim housing benefit but we earn too much to qualify.
Oh and all welcome round for beans on toast! Just bring your own beand and bread!! LOLSAVING FOR OUR FIRST HOUSE DEPOSIT
