Mary I should have saved you a magazine i was reading - but DD just made it into a log. :rotfl:
Guaranteed to put your DS off milk. It was an old copy of organic Life magazine - theres a bloke who says 'what do you say to someone who is still breastfeeding from ANOTHER SPECIES at the age of 45' yep sounds gross but thats what we humans do by consuming cow's milk!

    I have done reading too!

I think, as charis says, they are good to get a fire going. They also keep the kids quiet for a while when they are making them, that can never be a bad thing ;)

That's it.. I'm telling my dad I'll have his then. :D
    :D

    Thanks everybody.

My thoughts exactly on cows milk. :D
I always tell people (when they start arguing with me on the subject) If I whip out my boob right here and now and start to feed my baby: would you ask me if you can have a glass full?

    No?..

    Really?

You do it to a cow!

I'm gonna be making a big bottle of pre-diluted juice from now on.

    Thanks for the tip.

I've done it before in the past, but somehow got out of the habit again.

sarah and becca - hadn't really thought of it like that................ Maybe comes from a childhood of collecting milk straight from the cow and the farm next to grans.............just something we were brought up with.
Tried soya milk at my sons (he's veggie) and don't mind it at all..........its the rest of the household............mind you, if I put it in a milk bottle -would they know I wonder ? Ooops............sorry........no.........I'd have to keep an empty plastic contained by me and keep filling it up when no one was looking.

"If things get tougher" --- they just did!

DH has come home with redundancy notice letter. Thanks to this board and in particular this thread, I'm ready to cope with it. Not been spending much, got fleecy stuff in for winter, been collecting firewood and enough food in house to manage for quite a while. (Also been copying cheapy recipes from OS board but draw the line at pigs head).

jamanda - so sorry to hear about OH's redundancy...............still, at least you;ll be better prepared to cope than a lot of people would.
    Good luck

You will cope, pet, and we're all here with you x - My OH was always on strike or out of work when my kids were wee, and we managed and were all the stronger afterwards.

No little ones in our house but I've always worked on the "once it's gone it's gone" theory, I buy what we need and if someone eats/drinks it all too quickly then tough, it's gone for as long as it should have lasted!
