  • Oh dear, Have just found this site & realised what i have got into. Mobile Ranbow owe me for the first cashback & I've just posted in the second. Their phones are out of order, their online help is unavailable & they are un-contactable. Think I need to go down the court claims route! I have a copy of the terms & conditions from their site when I joined up at the end of Feb on an 18 month contract, I also spoke to the online help for advice before sending in the first claim, to ensure I'd complied...All in vain it seems. Any tips on claiming & how to would be greatly appreciated!
  • This is the message I emailed them today:

So far I have enquired about my cash back deal on 23/7/07, 23/8/07, 13/10/07 and 9/11/07. I have met all the conditions involved in the deal and yet you fail to send me the money you promise. PLease can you rectify this issue as soon as possible. There are several feedback websites that ask for customer feedback about internet deals, please do not force me to give you negative feedback. Your system does not allow me to complete my email address so it is below
    XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
I look forward to your reply and the cheque as promised.

Complain to your network provider and to watchdog. Post your experience on sites like blagger.com, reviewcentre, etc..

The more people that do it, the more likely that MR will be investigated and shamed.

Seems as though they've reached the end of their business...!!! Give it until January 2008, and I'll be surprised if they're still in business!

They're tempting people with "Instant Cashback" deals - possibly to reap the Christmas sales, after which they'll have gone bankrupt!
  • hi i have posted here before I had not received my first cashback despite it being due om august, i rang them on numerous occasions an demailed them. Then sent a letter to say I would start court action against them and then waited again and on the day when decided to start the court action, checked my bank account and they had finally paid my first cashback. So now I have strated chasing my second cashback.

Keep ringing them on the free phone number and also email them and get them to specify a date when you will have received your payment by.

Just a word of warning. Ever since the legistation has been in place since the 15th November '07 alot of Companys that have Cashback deals have been bankrupt and gone out of business. Cool New Mobile was one and i heard another one called Dial a Mobile.

You will not receive any money and there may not be an alternative way of claiming that money once the company goes bankrupt. So hassle them as much as possible down the phone through emails, til they memorise your name and your phone number as reference! I've only got one more to claim which i am going to start hassling them from today onwards til i get it.

You have to be abrupt - don't give them an opportunity to make excuses.

Even though they are based in india, they have a Warehouse in Watford so they still have to abide by UK Law. Most likely they might go bankrupt as they Law is being quite firm and in matter of weeks most companys have gone down.

My Boyfriend had problems with Cool New Mobile, they stopped answering their phones (by the way they were based in the UK so it wasn't a call centre in India) and before you know it they'd gone otu of business.

I found this forum shortly after buying a phone on 18 month contract from Mobile Rainbow with cashback deal back in March. My heart sank when I read all the info here and I wished I'd done my research first. However, I was in the contract by then so no turning back so I've been dreading making the first cashback claim...

No surprises anyway. I sent original copies of my bills in the specified time frame (only just thanks to those postal strikes - thanks Royal Mail!). Got proof of postage and delivery, plus I took copies of the bills for my own records when I posted them.

I was due my cashback last week and nothing had come through so I emailed Mobile Rainbow and received this:

As I say, I wasn't surprised having read everything on this forum. I'm not messing around with this and have sent them a Letter Before Action today stating I have complete proof that I posted all copies of the bills. If they don't pay within 7 days I will claim for the entire amount. I've taken plenty of companies to court before through my line of work, so it's just another day at the office really.

It's unbelievable though isn't it?? A blatant attempt to deny a cashback claim. I really wonder how many people just give up as soon as they read an email like this. Must be a few, as I checked and MSols are turning over nearly £2million. They only have one County Court Judgement against them for £25.

Anyway, I'll try and keep this forum posted on my progress.
