Hey there, sorry to hear about your redundancy
Well done on the phone, that will help a lot! Do what you need to do with the car to raise cash/pay off some debts. It's painful, but no point in throwing good money after bad. As people have said, once you're back on your feet you can get a new car.
It's going to be tough sorting this out but it will really be worth it, and hopefully will be a short term thing for you - once things pick up again work-wise you'll be in so much of a better position
Good luck!!0 -
Come on - there's no need for some of these posts - I was taking onboard what you were saying I was just saying why it's still there.
Maybe i should use smileys more often, but to be honest at this moment in time i'm finding it hard to use a suitable one.
You've made me see sense and I thank you for that.0 -
It's not broken - just I'm in the middle of finishing the new engine off. ($$$$$$$$$)Dam.M_ wrote:Loads of attachement to it - I'd rather sell the shed of an Audi first.
. Get a small diesel and do a new budget with your reduced phone, cut the clothing money etc

I used to work in a bank and see this stuff happening everyday. The problem was... that there was "always some one in a much worse position"
and sadly that someone is now you. Cut your losses with the Fiesta and spend the next 12 months getting yourself back together. Then look at your situation and move forward, perhaps looking to get back into racing (with a car that is whole!) by the time you are 25."Stay Wonky":D

It takes a while to sink in mate, just stick at it and keep coming on here to keep your head in it. You'll get there
Oh and I've found this smiley has been appropriate for how I've felt at times! :wall:

sorry if you feel we aren't being 100% supportive, but we've all been there, done that and probably got in a much worse situation than you are and some old timers on here will probably say that their first posts were also met with a bit of 'tough love'.
You are very young and have the opportunity to very quickly put this all right, if you don't though, in a couple of years it will be 20-30k debt - or more for the sake of a few sacrifices now.
You're making the right moves in the right direction - just keep going"Stay Wonky":D

Hi Dan, well done for posting your SOA and for the progress you have made so far. Its brilliant that you have had your LBM at 21, if you just get through this by 25 you will prob have no debt and a good house deposit.
If you can sell your car then it will really help, if you really dont want to you will have to find a way to make some extra cash. do you have anything you can ebay from your spending days? How is the job situation in your area of work?
Good luck becoming debt free, you will get there eventually.DFW NERD NO.656 DEBT FREE 24TH NOVEMBER 2010 TOTAL DEBT AUGUST 2007 £39000MFiT T2 NO.56 WE OWN [STRIKE]25%[/STRIKE] 31.5% OF OUR HOUSE SO FAR!0 -
My thoughts are if you really want to keep the fiesta, then do so but make sure its not costing you any money, and don't spend anything on it doing it up at the moment. I see you feel you've put a lot of effort in to it and don't want to sell it half done for a fraction of the cost.
You've made some very quick reductions so far - especially the mobile. As others have said consider changing the Audi for something else but otherwise well done for the improvements to your spending made in just one day. Realistically do you think you will be able to find a new job soon? If so you can have a different plan of action than if its likely to take months or years. It will depends on your industry/ skills and qualifications. If its the former then you need a plan to tide you over in the meantime, i.e. just paying minimum repayments.
Just a thought, your obviously a bit of a mechanic- could you earn money from servicing and repairing your mates cars at all?A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
I didn't buy the audi cos of anything - it was pretty cheap and needed a mile muncher for the 400 miles I was doing a month.
I will be putting the car up for sale. Bare in mind i'm 21 years of age, and insurance on anything is a killer.
Insurance on anything will not be a killer. I am 20 and have a speeding conviction and my insurance costs £376 a year, you can get cheaper insurance if you get rid of the audi :rolleyes:0
