    hi fay, karma and everyone else.
    Fay great finds in the charity shop. Every now and then the opp shops here (that is what they call charity shops) have a clear out where it is $1 a bag. I got 8 things in the bag last time, and they were really good quality too. result!!

    So i keep my eyes open now for when they do the next round. I am glad actually that they have a fair few of those type of shops where i live as clothes are pretty expensive as a proportion of your income...

    Hope that things are going well with your slow cooker. I think they take some getting used to.

    Ooh, congratulations Fay's OH! Good luck with the decision, it won't be an easy one... I guess he's got you to advise about the logistics! Hope it goes well and you get the result that works for you both...

    I was reading about someone making yogurt in a slow cooker the other day - ever tried it? I make my own yogurt sometimes (not got a slow cooker though) and it's very nice!

    5 days to go! Tearing hair out, put on over a stone in last 5 weeks, face completely broken out in dry blotchy patches - gosh, I paint an appealing picture of PhD-ness, don't I???

    <yawn>

    Right, Absolutely MUST rejig chapters 2 and 3 today. Must must must.

    Well done on your charity shop bargains! And Edna is looking very weedy indeed :):)

    (cheers for message, by the way, much appreciated, and I do keep meaning to reply!)

    CD, yogurt in a slow cooker! I like the sound of that.

    I like Bob's advice too on dealing with the disgusting card people.

    I have no advice whatsoever at the mo, feeling completely stupid - I'm trying to use the time productively by fiddling about with little pieces of paper and doing the accounts, but the temptation to veg in front of the tv, even at 3.30 in the afternoon, is almost overwhelming....

    It was on Radio 2 travel news earlier on that the Orkney ferries weren't running due to weather - I did think of you! The Hebrides ones were badly disrupted today and yesterday too.

    Excellent bargainous charity shop visits there - well done you! Wish I was as organised as you for christmas - the best I can claim so far is some odd stocking-fillers and a book for MrEH......and I've got my Mum's birthday coming up at the end of November too!

    You're getting your money's worth out of that slow cooker. Mine's been active this week too - I think it's the time of year!
