Getting organised for Christmas - my sister and my mum are off to my sister's French house for half term, and they're taking their Christmas cards to write out (for something to do in the evening - its not the jolly jape it sounds, because of other circumstances) - and I might well write out some family Christmas cards in the next week, so my mum can take them home with her and I won't have to trust the post, for some of them anyway. There's only four, so she should be able to manage.

i was thinking along similar likes Karma, though i hate christmas card writing, if i do it now i can give them to my mum and she can send them when she sends hers and save on envelops. Usually she gives me 5 mins notice of her posting them so i end up paying a second lot of postage cos i haven't pshyced myself up to the job.
we did do chrissy shopping on wed in the pouring rain so we can take them with us in Nov to visit the outlaws.

Christmas cards??!!! Christmas presents???!!!!!! It's still OCTOBER!!!!:D Well full marks to all of you for being waaaaaay too well organised! I have started getting a few bits and pieces put aside, and must also get the bits for the christmas cards too - in fact I may make good use of my free time this afternoon and go to get those bits.

Has your weather calmed down a bit now Fay?

I rather suspect the question might possibly be more along the lines of "how does Mr Fay feel about it! :rotfl:

Fay - I hope the decision goes in the direction which would make you happiest - I'm not entirely certain that I could guess which way that might be though?!

Having denounced and ridiculed you all earlier re getting ready for christmas - I have just been out and got a few bits of shopping ready for christmas! :o Ahh well, if you can't beat 'em!

Oooh, Fay, could go either way! Must be a right decision-making-fiasco round your parts right now, to PhD or not to PhD, to work in Orkney or not to work in Orkney, together and working, or apart and PhD-ing, I don't envy all these decisions!

(maybe best to let him make up his own mind, if it all goes wrong you can't get the blame for luring him up there!) :)

<wishes boss would let her work from Orkney>

Good luck writing, I'm doing the same, 2 and a half days to go, aarrggghhh! :)
