thought i would share how shallow my cat is, she keeps sitting in front of the brass surround on the new fire looking at her reflection. I guess one girlie in this house has to care about her appearance.

I *love* this, this is wonderful :T:T:T

Also got couple things for pressie box (new gloves, xmas socks x2 and a bow tie for DD - she loves dressing up)

sounds like another good haul fay.
i've got to have my eye's tortured by the diabetic clinic today. I'm hoping the fact that it's a stones throw from the police station won't mean i'll get arrested when they have to fight to get near me with the drops.
i really hate anyone coming near my eyes, and did appologise in advance the only other time i've had to have it done.
Blimey just noticed how well your battle with Edna is going. I may have to have a small retreat on diavolo as need to keep afloat and my have transfered a little too much across.
  • LT goodluck with the eyes - and ta for edna - its tough though and so easy like you say to overpay - its all really finely balanced at the mo - argh!

  • Pah to Captial one

Forgot to say got a letter on Saturday saying um you ticked the PPI box - (silly me) on your application form - therefore lady NO refunds for you. (Indeed there is a photocopy of my ticked box - in 2005 - before I got the light (MSE)) Pants can I do anything?

4 weeks to complain or its binned

Then lovely Capital one - not a conicidence (?) I got a different completely out of the blue letter today saying they are putting my interest on the card upto 39.90% for purchases or I can pay the lot and cancel by December.

I only have 2 cc'S and they are useful - so maybe I need to make sure this one is absolutley always paid off - I'd not get another card (moved too much in the past).

Or do I be brave and bin it - I have a Lloyds one £1000 limit and this Capital One card £500 limit.

  • Yeah Mr.B had that one too...funnily enough on the copy we had there is no indent where he is supposed to have signed....co- incidence? I think not..keep claiming as it may not have covered what you needed PPI for.

Re the hike in rates, tell them to freeze account at what you are paying now and there really is no justification for that kind of hike, put it in writing to complaints dept. They have to take it seriously then.

Or better still bin the b*gger.

  • ok- Have a look at the Terms and conditions you were sold the PPI on.
There is a check list on the reclaiming board.
Were you in full employment at the time? Etc. Were the terms explained fully to you? Or did they send a precis which is generally full of jargon? The upshot of it is would you have been covered for payments if you had become unemployed? If the answer is likely to be no- then you could have a case..in which case put a second letter in stating reasons why.

The second bit- well if you intend to get rid of the card- ring up and say you are not happy with rate rise and considering the bank of England's base rate it is laughable that they are doing this. They will do one of few things,
    1- say tough pay it
2- they could freeze at your current rate and you will not use the card but just pay off.
3- they could alter your rate and therefore you will be happier.
4- Not being prejudiced or anything, but i would speak to someone in the English call centre as you are more likely to get a reasoned explanation and one that is understandable as well. The times i have been trying to understand the call centres abroad which have crackly lines and either you or the operator on the other side has to be put through to different depts because neither of us understand each other..well it is a long list and you can ask straight away to be put through to someone in Nottingham.

They have a complaints dept in Nottingham, who will take your complaint seriously re reasons for rate hike etc, if you cannot get through to someone.
Oh and you should also write to them about PPI if you have a good case.Have a look at check list again and do you remember the tick box?
