LT great re extra payments well done you
I think its a great idea to keep a tally of your savings - think on the main thread would be great
Go on have courage - I never thought I'd ever do anysort of online blog
PS My life is also very boring - you could easily do a diary you do so many interesting thingsTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Waves to Olive (did the socks actually fit ??) and Kittkins - and of course LT - yeah its a family thing (his side) I figure if we can call it an adventure and do something (ie take darwin and bikes etc) then we can almost call it an adventure the baby thing is only from 4pm on Sat but it means half day on friday and then all weekend - 2 night accomodation.
I think I am more annoyed becuase both SIL and her Mum live in cottages with spare bedrooms - and NEITHER of them are offering to put ANYONE up.
Even if they put up the olds they also have a field and we have darwin, tents and awning etc - but OH dad is v old and can't camp.
GRR GRR GRRRR.
So we have to (sorry I meant 'I') had to find accomodation to suit ALL of us - and in my MSE way couldn't face over 150 for hotels/b&B so have gone for a holiday cottage close which will do 2 nights.
OH won't go without me there, OH's folks won't go without a lift from him - nothing like a bit of emotional blackmail to make me feel very special. So if I dont go - no one from OH's family will go
In that frame of mind - I don't really know I feel about 'catching up' with that ungrateful (not sure of right word) bunch of non-relatives.
Sorry to unburdenon the positive side (NOT) they are all expecting us down for xmas as well - not like I thought to be able to stay home with open fires nice big house and xmas at home.........
I am not anti-going places - not at all - but I am anti-doing family stuff just cos you are supposed to - pah to it all.
Otherwise am a happy bunny - honest injun. I think the tight A!! MSE mentality has me thinking OK no one can pay for this trip - do I want to do it (um not really), can I do it cheaper (yup only if we use darwin - but folks can't use darwin). AND it could have gone to my OD or a CC - you see I am learning and turning into a tight wad
PS Student loan debate, I see the interest will be 0% for mine from Sept 1st - can I really forget about it - or should I really see it as a debt?
If I write it off (pretend like write it off) then my debt is just over 10K
PPS I can treat the trip as a 'shopping trip' but I am just back from the mainland and don't really need to 'shop' since finding this newly found frugal mentality.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

If its at 0% at the mo then I'd only pay whatever I had to and not overpay it/them at all and instead pay what I could to other cards/ Overdrafts/ loans etc that are charged interest. It is a debt but while the int rate is so low its one is that is pretty low/bottom of the list to overpay...
What's next on the hit list once edna dies a death?
Sounds like you are stuck in the middle of a fun naming ceremony saga... Why are "family" things (even OH's family things ) never simple...I hope things go well for him at his work too... that doesn't sound great...

hi how about 'negotiating' with OH that you do the baby thing and then you get to spend christmas together at your place.
i'll see if i can drum up some courage to put a challenge on the boards.
It also looks like i've been challenged to lose 6 stone before we can try for a baby. but the goodish news is i am only borderline diabeties so no medication and i may even 'cure' myself with diet.0 -
LT - that's great news well better news I mean - you know what I mean - if I can help by cutting out something ot keep you company let me know -
I will try and negotiate something with OH but I don't hold up much hope
OH doesnt really negotiate - and I am carp at it too - hence the 300 mile distance between houses - we couldn't agree and i got too impatient.
With OH its more 'slow and steady wins the race' - throw an idea out - say in 1985 - give him a few decades to think about it and then he might act.
I on the other half change my name 10 times a day!
Maybe its a good combo. ?
PAD to the evil one - its rackiing up - tackle next - I guess putting money aside for trip and slowly stashing things for xmas for the troups.
I may make 'contact' with OH sister and suggest we come down 'just after xmas' ? Dunno what to do really - home would be good cos of house - south good cos of chums and places/people to visit - and Edinburgh is amazing over the holidays with the continental xmas market in Princes st etcTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

That's good news LT about your diabetes:TBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

i do love that stripey dog fay it makes me smile, on a day where a week long lingering headache/migraine is just getting me down.
can't wait for this long weekend and september to start cos at least i'll be in the month when my holiday is booked in, even if it is travellodge deals in Yorkshire. (really must get them sorted)0 -
LT - boo to headaches - smiiles to stripey dogs
Taka - I don't have to pay anything to my student loan yet (don't earn enough) so maybe I should put some money away for it once other debts are paid off - its niggling at me.
Wet feet here but full of half a portion of fish and chips (last student day lunch) - sorry but I am so stuffed.
OH on way up
