The revenge of the stripey socks - a DFW adventure

Peedie update
Paid a week early - woo hoo - paid rent and brothers rent (he gave me it 3 weeks ago and its gone to my CC) now have um NO money left.
Evil edna still getting £10 a day but to be honest it might be a bit too high - thinking about this.
Also got a 700 quid bill for tax - need to sort out some bits and make sure its right - pah.
DD 3 trips in September - all over £50 - pah
Passports need redone - double pah.
Washing machine is again on blink - not turning suspect the belt will call the nice man again and ask for help - he works at the local oil terminal so I hope he's not working his shift this week (selfish or what??)
Worried about new student - she is lovely and a bit um loud, but is panicking about the cold and asked for an additional heater already ( its balmy here about um 14 degrees) - if she runs it the whole time it runs at between 9-20p/hour - worse case scenerio is 12hours a day/7 days a week - 2-3 quid a day - £60-75 extra on my electricity bill a month.
I negotiated that if things worked out the £75 rent a week I quoted her could become £285 a month - if she uses the heater alot then it mean I was really not making very much at all from the room - with each student I give my landlord a share of the booty as extra rent.
Bah humbug - I am so not in a great mood am I? Sorry she seems lovely but I am not great with whining 23 year olds. What part of moving to an island on the north tip of scotland didn't she think it'd be cold? Or was the phrase in my emails 'um well its an old house, which gets quite cold, old heating system and doesnt suit everyone........' didnt she understand??????
Honest she seems lovely its just that I need time to adjust - before the energy stuff wouldnt bother me.
OK on a more positive note - I collected and sorted 3 present boxes - how do you guys with pressie stashes work them? Do you put them - by products (ie bath stuff together, candles, sweeties together, clothes together, stripey socks together? etc?) and how do you keep track of them??
I currently have 3 tomato boxes full of stuff and need to think more strategically about what/who I am going to give this year - was thinking of making up baskets ? Or is that another expense not needed - maybe just virtual baskets.?
LT - I saw crafting packs in my local craft shop for about 2.99 - worth the money?
Cleared out the wardrobe - one bin bag of stuff for the charity shops (not any good for ebay) BUT did find many bits of electrical cables, scart plug adaptors etc - ebayable???
Onwards - mood will decrease tenfold until stupid presentation done to audience of potentially 200+ on Friday 11.30
Prob best avoid this darkly bah humbug thread til am smiley again

doesn't sound a bad price for the craft stuff but does depend exactly what's in there.
enjoy your lillies they are beautiful.
I've started panicking about christmas as i've not even started. I am trying to figure out how to raise the subject with a friend who's been made redundant about us no longer buying pressies for each other.0 -
LT - I just said to my chum - can we embargo pressies this year as we are a bit skint, maybe have a coffee/drink and a blether instead and concentrate on other things.....?
No offence given/taken and we don't do pressies anymore now.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

as i'm not sure when i'll see my friend i sent a very long text to explain but i haven't heard from here which is different. Hope i haven't offended her, but i think she's a better friend than that.
can't wait for OH to get home, feel like we need a flame thrower to get this place straight, why does it take seconds to turn it into a tip yet a lifetime to get it nice again?0 -

Oh Fay, I'm so with you - they're a weakness of mine cos they look so nice & smell so good. I live in a tiny flat so they're like a really beautiful air freshener too
