hi yes we're fine at this end, OH's toe won't fall off (it's offical) but he is taking a couple of days off unpaid (company don't pay sick pay and it's going to be about 18hrs down). I'm trying to get and stay motivated to try and get some stuff sorted at home.
Evil edna is really bitting the dust isn't she!
  • LT - argh to no sick pay

Washing machine man coming to visit tonight - lets pray it is not too expensive

glad to hear that the washing machine was repairable. I do find though that washing machines are quite often on freecycle so you might find one on there for free when yours finally pops is clogs.

well done on evil edna too.

Sorry to hear about OH job. If he did get made redundant, could he do a online consultancy using his job skills from your house? Or does he have to be on the main land?
    chev
I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?
  • Morning Chev - glad the machine is OK its a posh eco-see the timer- make the tea - tiny load/big load (6kg) beast which wasnt' cheap - new belt sounds ace but yeah freecycle is always a good bet for these kind of beasts.

OH - update is that their dept is keeping 2 losing 2 - so they are all now competing against each other - he thinks its worse. He's not keen tolive up here - but a local research company here is recrutiing soon so he might apply - they were interested in him.

    Peedie money update

CC's still taken a bashing as waiting for money to come through from various expenses. - so paying extra off from that where I can shoved in an extra bit today - WTFC comes tomorrow thank the lord

Evil edna - 110 in my online savings account towards her - my OD review is in Sept for my OD and as much as I want rid of it - I'd like it as an option so not putting much money actually into it at the moment until they approve the review (if that makes sense)

New student turns up tonight - 2 week trial - see how we get on - I have had to declutter the study for her - its quite nice in there now! lol - she will be in there til the start of hte month when our lovely French student leaves.

Needless to say still tidying the house and need to sort out towels, cupboards for food etc

Thank goodness the washing machine is working.

GOt a family 'naming' ceremony in the middle of Sept - is it bad that I am now resenting this additional costly stuff - sorted accomodation for me, mine and OH and his mum and dad - 120 for the weekend - whcih means my share is £40 for two nights

However - Ferry >50 each way, Petrol another 50 at least- food, boat stuff is it terrible that I am sulky cos its an extra 200 in sept - pah - how horrible do I sound - I almost wanted to offer tosend the mite a premium bond for £50 and then say have a great time.

Does that make me a keen DFW'r or a skinflint.????????

I'd be tempted to do the premium bond thing....but I'm so tight it squeaks when it comes to things like that, lol.

IMHO, if you are not looking forward to it as a gathering of friends, then it isn't worth lashing out for all that travel and stuff. :o

But it is his family I presume? And there'll be the pressure to be there then? Maybe you have to go, so it is an unavoidable expense after all. :-(

i'd go for the premium bond option as well.

I'm considering putting my head above the parapet on MSE and starting a challenge (could never think of a diary as my life is too boring). Anyway i've been saving the bits on the bottom of receipts which say you have saved x and since the new year i've saved almost £300, someone suggested i set up a challenge but i'm a coward, but could possibly be up to the challenge now. What do you think? and if so would it go on the main DFW board or the diary board? oh it's so confusing.

I've been playing with numbers as i get paid on Friday so will have changing my signature soon and maybe able to save more against the loan than i thought i would be able to.
