death by sunshine!! Completely dried up, couldnt keep the ground wet enough

Sorry to hear that angelflower. I get small juice bottles and cut the bottom off them and up turn them into the ground so they are like a funnel and push it down into the ground. I fill this and let the water seep down so that its not all sitting on the surface. Seems to help. Also water first thing in the morning and last thing at night so as the water doesn't evaporate helps too.

EEEEK methinks your patch needs some organic matter my dear - helps the soil to be all lovely and moist and juicy when it gets a bit dry - poor you - hope you didn't lose too much stuff .

    Sunshine though, warmth - mmmmmmmm:D

My little doggie is underneath my bedroom desk at home with the bedroom door open its lovely and he's snoring :rotfl:

Must head back into the office - evil one leaves today fro Sheltand - I keep wondering if Shetland would like to keep him.........

So best go in and make sure he knows I am 'working hard'.

Student bank acount may be only a letter away hurrah - I got refused as Phd is after degree and msc and they didn't like giving me anohter 'free bank resource' but they said yeah today after lots of phonecalls. Need get the office to print off my offer letter and my salary (as its miniscule that wont take long.)

Wedges/or baked spuds and cauliflower cheese today for tea - yummy followed by stewed rhubarb - double yum.

    What you all having?

HURRAH FOR MEAL PLANNING - - WAITING FOR PIQ TO FALL OFF CHAIR.....

  • Hello Fay & everyone - got back yesterday from the Hebrides and it was wonderful - as ever didn't want to come home! Lots of stuff / pics on my blog if anyone wants a read (it should be in my profile).

Fay you're doing amazingly well with the Hairy scary loan - it'll be gone before you know it. I'm on a tight grocery budget this month too so we should motivate ourselves to see out the month and not go over. I've got £16 left for next week's shop so we will see how that goes. Both freezers are now full to bursting though as we brought lots of stuff back with us (Black, white and fruit puddings from our favourite butchers, Scallops - we can never afford them at the prices down here - flaky smoked salmon - real treat food and it gets eked out over lots of meals - kippers and cheese from the Stornoway Smokehouse and pate from another smokehouse just a few miles from where we stay up there - also brought back two big bags of oatmeal - hurrah!). Hopefully I should need just basics next week. *ouch - panic as I remember minor forgotten detail...* I hope so anyway as I've just remembered I have a veg box coming this week too.....eek, I think I'm going over!

Had better go and catch up with what I should be doing on Flylady and try to get back to some kind of normality now.....back to work tomorrow but want to make the most of today - might go for a wander round the RSPB reserve this afternoon if the sun stays out!

    Hiya
Nice ot see you back - we did it in reverse didn't we you went westwards to your island and I went to Edinburgh!!

Nice that you got a good stash of goodies - same here we get all the local premium stuff at not as much as south - which is a bonus especially when folks come up - but we do stash it as well as there's nothing nicer than a treat of pals comign and lovely food.

My store cupboards are groaning and I did on the mainland forget to buy anthing but proper butter and cooking butter - no marg or anything for toast - whoops!

Eek just seen the time really need to dash - hope you settle in OK its taken me a good week to get over my trip - this time last week I was driving up the A9, with a fully loaded darwin.

    waves

Uni - x yeah no bother will text my pal and get his website details and a contact number for you if you are interested - not sure what he charges but will make sure she knows its you!

Funnily enough (and we're not copying you) Cauliflower cheese (although youngest will not eat veg so she's having ravioli). We were supposed to have it yesterday but OH decided to be nice to me and buy a takeaway! oh yes, my waist line needs that not! My weight has gone up 3lbs! I'm serioulsy thinking about doing the Speical K diet again just to kick start things.

  • Hey you two we are tea triplets - kinda xx

Bed from freecycle tonight - woo hoo - it sounds quite nice - and by all accounts immaculate.

    Must list something soon.

And must start my ebay plant list properly. I keep giving things away at work - nice but not great for the old hairy chops loan eh?

I love Freecycle.DH is collecting a washer dryer for DD1 tonight from a kind person.
Most of my house seems to be from Freecycle.Sometimes I feel quite mean that I dont give more away but I try everything on Ebay first and then if it doesn't sell it goes to Freecycle.
Charity has to begin at home I'm afraid.
