Hi Fay...Just thought I'd drop in and say hi - I do read your diary, just need to try harder to keep up:rotfl:
Love the sound of your balcony overlooking the garden....sounds bliss:p

And I love reading all about the gardening and growing stuff - I'd love to grow seeds and the like, but have no idea where to start...I killed off the only tomato plant I had last year:o I don't have any beds in which to grow anything, but DD2 and myself might have a go at some pretty pots of flowers and gro-bags of toms/cucmumber this year.....you never know!
I really need to sort out a new signature!

Hi Milly - sorry I need to stop blethering so much bruck!

Pretty flower pots and some grow bags sounds kinda nifty! Nasturtiums, beetroot, radishes are easy and quick and fun as are marigolds and things like pansies, violas and poached egg plants. Cut and come again lettuces like red salad bowl and lollo rosso are grand as well. Mix and match and have a go - I am a bung it all in type of gardener - x

Cleared out the balcony bit today - and boys brought up a bench so I now have a secret bench on my secret balcony where my secret garden will be.

Also put a desk in my room too - will see if htat helps my motivation - am flagging a bit at the moment........

    Hope you are all OK

Made a double batch of hobnobs - hid half of them in the garage in a tupperware and kept back some mix to put in the fridge to see how it keeps to bake from the fridge when we are rushing.

Meal planner is beginning to make me happy - AT LAST -and we are sticking to it.

I bought some extra bread, bananas and apples - and got a reduced lump of silverside (£6 from £16) so i couldnt resist that - whoops.

Otherwise still underbudget for shopping this month 26.24/50 - but 10 or so days to go. :)

No one has even noticed...........the lack of shopping and the lack of popping out for the occasional 'treat' - thats all x

Fay, any pancakes left - I'll have mine toasted please, with lots of butter running down my chin smiley89.gif. My gran used to make them, yum yum.

Today I have planted up my little, sorry peedie, raised bed :j. Here's hoping for this thanksgiving03.gif but I am expecting Dandelion.GIF. Have planted a row (only 1 of everything, v limited space :o) of broad beans, peas, carrots, cucumber & 2 types of radishes. Not expecting much from cuc, but let's give it a go. Also harvested my 1st crop of salad leaves today which tasted lush :T (ok, I ate 1 peedie plant with 4 leaves, but it did taste v good :rotfl:)

It's all your fault Fay ;)
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Gally girl well done on the peedie bit - :)

Excellent news on the patch and yum to the salad stuff. I hope its all lovely - the radishes should be ready to eat in less than 3-4 weeks - they grow like crazy - and you never know about the cucumber!!

I planted out some rocket today int he greenhouse and also some more lettuce - hoping for salad stuff soon, I did give the lettuce tray a mini hair cut and there was enough for a sandwich ;0

Fingers crossed for you - the weeds wouldn't dare surely????

Toasted pancakes - never heard of that one - might give it a go later on........

L chucked you a hobnob from the secret stash in the stripey socks corner shop (garage)
