  • Watching the news in my bedroom thinking the world has gone crazy!

Working up the motivation to get the washing out of the garden - had a bonfire today - something I always do when I need to think - something about clearing the mind.

Dreading this presentation next week, and so far have rewritten it about 10 times - so went in to garden with paper and pen sat by my oil drum bonfire and wrote out what I wanted to get across.

Prob is its a mixed audience - experts and folks off the street - so it needs to be understandable to all - but still contain some kind of info for the experts (make sense?)

DS made pizza for tea - yum - he has a pal here - DD immersed in bedknobs and broom sticks - we both cut the outside wee lawns today together - quite a laugh!

Got offered a f and f from first credit of 30% off my 3k CC but its not the right time at the moment to miraculously find £2k - maybe in a year or two - its getting paid off gradually and its 0% so - slow and steady.

A wonderful kind friend has put together a lovely rainbow coloured blanket for Darwin - and I am excited everytime I see the postie at the moment :)

Thinking about putting a desk in my bedroom to get some time out and peace when I am working - wiht the weahter improving taking over the whole dining room isn't really fair and i have opened up the glass door partition between it and the living room and also the door into the conservatory - so its one big airy lovely room at the moment - please let it be a nice summer :)

That sounds quite tough, creating a presentation for non-experts and experts together but I guess it is good to have a challenge and will help you get right to the crux of your ideas.

I like the idea of a desk in your bedroom for the peace but would you find it a bit hard to seperate work from relaxtion time? You know, going to bed and seeing a pile of paperwork right in front of you? (saying that, I live in one room basically, live in a shared house and we share a kitchen and bathroom and I have a large bedroom - almost like a bedsit)

Would you be able to have it up against a window? My office overlooks a big park and I am lucky in that my desk is by the window and I can look out. It is so lovely and I really appreciate the view. Helps soothe the mind somehow!

I totally agree about Summer - I really hope we have a good one! I don't think I managed to go to one barbecue last year as the weather was so bad!!
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

And feed my interiors addiction ;)

My own recap - as am now terminally depressed:

Loans - hairy - 955, lloyds 1600, penguin chops 2755 (student loan 13770 - dont think about that one)
    CC's - Bad one 2980, fishy card 270, lloyds one 703
o/ds both at about 1000 ish give or take

using fingers and toes - and being completely honest - gulp

    gulp £25032
minus student loan (13k ish) £11262
    minus working O/d's and cc's (3k ish) £8262

Working on improving my spending habits to reduce spending and stuff on working OD and CC's whilst overpaying:

    First - hairy mcclairy
Second - OD's - get rid of one by end of year completely
Third - Scary CC - its at 0%
    Forth - Penguin chops - also 0%
Fifth - LLoyds loan (I am not paying £20 to pay off it early!!!!! so 16 months to go)
Sixth - gulp and think about Student loan. (perhaps marry millionaire ??)

On that depressing note (think positively) - am away for a walk on beach and keep thinking of overpayments and frugalist strategies :)

Sorry if this is a monolgue..........

Sidles up next to Fay with equally depressed tone:oNever mind love, we are all paddling the same boat....hopefully with a bit of pananche, a large wine and full blingy socks:D
Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:

    Hiya
I know what you mean - was wondering about the whole seeing the paperwork stuff - I was thinking when I take my glasses off I won't see it:rotfl:

Also - I have to confess to this - I have a balcony (1 1/2m by about 5m) and a door in my bedroom which goes out to it and it looks out on the garden - i might move one of the garden benches out there and set my desk up beside the door so I can have it open sometimes if its sunny? my own wee secret garden......?

I dont want to leave this house I love it!!!!!!

We had a very good summer last year - shetland did as well - unlike the rest of the UK

Tidy bedroom - whoo hoo - go me on a saturday night I know how to have a good time :)

Finding the big shop we did south a bit odd - its ace having a 'wee shop in the garage' - but my brother keeps asking me 'do you need anythign from the shops.........OMG I hope not!!:rotfl:

How are you anyway? Been a wee while.........

Hiya bob hows tricks?? - someone on here said pay off at least 32 and you will be under 25k - so I have done that!!

I keep praying someone will make my student loan disapear - I heard that the SNP (who I don't vote for) are promising to write off student loans (mines is 14k) if they get in - but I am not sure I am for an independant scotland (nothing against it just not sure I am for it)

College might want to borrow darwin for 4 weeks - I was thinking about 6 grand a week might be fair and pay off all my debts ??:confused::confused::confused:

Somehow I think they might not be keen to borrow him for that much :rotfl:but will see how much they do offer :)

I pray like that too Fay:rotfl::rotfl:

6 grand is far to cheap for a beauty like Darwin, especially after all those grubby students have been in...i think 10 would be nearer the mark.;)

I love the stone, we have a strange collection of stones next to the fireplace here - the only connecting factor being that DS found them interesting at some point!
