Watching the news in my bedroom thinking the world has gone crazy!

Funny, I was thinking the same myself recently. People who are repeatedly physically or verbally abusive need a radical readjustment with a 2x4 (ok violence against violence probably doesn't work but it makes me mad that some people just get away with things repeatedly) and should never be allowed to have children. If they do have children, take them away from that environment. Sounds harsh I know but maybe if we showed the younger generation a zero tolerance approach to violence and anger we might bring society back into tow and bring back some sort of morality.

I love the stone, we have a strange collection of stones next to the fireplace here - the only connecting factor being that DS found them interesting at some point!
Here's a vw hire place in edinburgh - might give you some idea of prices if they don't go for the £6K per week http://www.scoobycampers.com/fleet/vehicle_item.php?LTvehicleID=0009

They charge quite a lot for rental and none of them are nice as Darwin.

  • Hi Unix - am with you there - the world has gone placid on non existent boundaries and almost no disipline.

Mind you I was brought up with a father in the army - if we stepped out of line he got it in the neck at work - so we never dared - maybe its different being brought up in such a strict environment?

I remember now why it is I don't often watch telly - the world is too scary a place.

I just think violence, barbarity and basically no morals are pushed as the norm. I'm not saying a huge clamp down so no one can do anything but certainly society needs to be brought back into line. It just feels like us law abiding citizens and those with morals are paraded as being freaks for actually caring about others. Sorry i'm on my high horse tonight. In a bit of a strange mood. :o

I gave my OH a heart shaped stone 2 years ago and he still carries it in his coat pocket :smileyhea, but only cos he's too idle to throw it out :rotfl:
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

i've been going through the things aren't going quickly enough, i can't change things on a major scale now so it's back to the long hard slog stage recently and it keeps bringing me down. I was norty and bought some new plants, including a cucumber and yellow tom, as my cucumbers haven't done anything and i didn't plant yellow toms. Did have a lovely day with OH yesterday and have another planned today, may go to the cinema with our bogof ticket.
  • Goes off to make every one a batch of pancakes (dropped scones to you English ones!!) and a cup of tea for all.

Sleeves up - if we are in this for the long haul we need sustinance :)

Hi LT - dont get depressed - think of all the money you will save on your groceries with your lovely plants and veggies - I joined the grocery challenge and its certainly focussed my thoughts!!
