Remember the surveys and click throughs. Ok not a lot from them but ever little helps. I remember one of the other members when I first started saying 'focus on a little each time otherwise it seems too overwhelming' and she was right.

    Agreed.
It's why the small-DFW list each day helps. It keeps me focussed

That and lists :rotfl:we'll all be unable to function soon without a list. ;)
  • Fay - Is your student loan with the SLC or a bank?

Well done on getting under that pesky £1K mark!

sHockeyduo - SLC for my student loan is there any advantage to being one or the other - I keep blindly hoping that they will just write them off. Come on some silly govt party you know you want too.......:)

As a single parent returning to study - I had to pay my own fees for my second degree and my msc (which I have just paid off) and took full student loan each year. Now it seems a bit silly. But it has got me back as a 'functioning ??' part of society??

My Msc will soon be paid off as well (- woo hoo fees and living expenses nearly paid)

What did the government use to say:

    Education Education Education

    - they didn't prefix that with

    Debt Debt Debt

Ta uni and olive and hockeyduo - went for a walk and lunch on the beach (10p noodles and a smart price 5/23p cupasoup) all very cheap with a sea view - even collected a bag of beach wood enough for an evenings worth of fuel * doing this always makes me feel better*

I just was getting a bit Yay I think - and needed a bit of a self reality check (to keep me focused!)

Olive I love the small things thread and now my new ish iphone has a list facility too I am in my element!!

My debt list is also on my phone :)

Did soem click throughs this am - and will keep focusing!!

    Thanks chaps :)

Don't mention lists. I love my lists keep saying to OH write things down. He doesn't and we end up with him booking stuff when I have things already booked. He then goes in a huff because it makes him look stupid when he has to change things. ..........So I'm all for lists!!!!!

Can anyone tell I'm having a VERY bad day.
CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J

Can't believe I have only just discovered you and your diary! I haven't read it all (yet!) but you are so emminently readable that I think I am going to have to turn the computer off and go and do some housework before I get drawn in and don't re-emerge - with a cracking headache - until the middle of next week...

Not much happens here - just the usual island exploits - love, affairs, revenge, dead animals, recipes, monumental money saving, stupid ex husbands, silly current partners, humungous shopping lists, whips, twinks hobnobs, financial disasters, vwcampervans - vet-allergies and lots of plants, socks and cooking:)

Molly visitor book always open ;)

    scurries off to finish presentation

bought a pair of jeans from redcross shop at lunch time (£2) - short length way hay - (I am challenged in legage) - BUT they said they were a 12 (ample tummy room)

BUT were an 8  - yeah they are on - but man am I a bit squished!! Might motivate me??

  • I have a student loan which is very mighty indeed. It gets paid off each month out the salary so don't think about it. If I was earning below £15K then i wouldn't be paying it off at all. Anyway my point was don't worry about as Martin says it's not like a typical loan. You won't get the bailiffs battering down your door for it so just put it on the back burner.
I am taking another loan out in Aug as I am going back to Uni to do my PGDE. It's only a year long course but i wouldn't be able to do it without SLC.

p.s Got a lovely pair of knee high grey socks on today with silver *sparkly* stripes on them.Nice!
