Thank you everyone for your advice. For a newbie to ASHP and forums it has been amazing.

I have increased the flow temperature
    Set to boost mode
Altered the temp 19-21 for 24/7 period

I have warm radiators so I'm hoping 36hours and we will be much warmer.

Once everything is back to normal I will revert back to my original settings.

    Thanks

We're trying to get my planet and Yorkshire energy services to sort this out. It's never worked right and it's been in for a
year and a half. Yes we need bigger pumps, they have been out and recommissioned it twice and they have still haven't got it right. Terrible company.

Will try the night set back to 19c from 18c and see. Believe it or not MIL was warm enough at the temps last night she doesn't like the house too warm.

Richard, do you know what the flow and return pipe size is, from Samsung manual it says 28mm, from experience, most heat pump manufacturers will state the minimum pipe sizes, however, installers seem to think this is not important and just connect to existing 22mm pipework.

    28mm pipes in the garage.

Keep us updated Smaf, and don't forget to revert back when temps are back to normal.

To be honest, the controls are pretty straightforward. Most installations are in the warmer months of the year, so there is virtually no heating mode required, so the system is set to what the client says that they want. In many installs this works perfectly ok, but then you may also need to fine tune/tweak settings in the winter for other units.

However in many installs it doesn't - new installations, modern technology, in 2015 and we have page after page of people 'who ain't thick' attempting to set up their heat pumps - it really should be 'fit and forget'!

Both EST trial reports said many users found the controls difficult to understand.

At least my heat pump has no controls or adjustments to make; and it comes with a 10 year guarantee. Mind you it is fitted in a Miele drier;)

Theoretically, 1.0 in a closed room household environment .... allowing for change of state, probably a little less ....

This is suggestion, turn the setback to 19C.

Turned upto 19 today, lounge is at 21, 19.5 in other rooms so not much warmer.

You may have mis-understood my reasoning for the 19C drop, but it was to try and balance the reheat cycles to a better energy level. Have the electrical usage/running times changed on the restart?
Room temps will not change as they are the the upper limits that are being required.
You cannot drop the flow temperature, which would be far better, so it is balancing the room thermostat change.

  • You mean 19c increase from 18c?
