Fantastic will try that for now0

Let us know how you get on later/As Manuel says in Fawlty Towers: " I Know Nothing"0

How long should it take?0

I do not know the Daiken, but you should be able to see if the additional heat is operating on the control panel. It may take a few hours, before things start to show a difference.
You have quite a large internal temperature range to cover from 10C to 21C, so you must give it time.As Manuel says in Fawlty Towers: " I Know Nothing"0 -
I did the same just after we'd got our system (Daikin Altherma). We went away in December for a fortnight and it took at least 36 hours for the house temperature to recover (we went to bed with extra quilts etc as it was December and there was about a foot of snow outside.
You can manually adjust the flow temperature using the system controller. If it's set to weather compensation then you can only wind it up by 5 degrees.
To increase the temperature to the unit's max you have to set it to manual (press the button A on the left side of the controller and the set temperature should show on the screen, then just increase the heating temp - max is 55 degrees.
Don't forget to press the A button to get back to weather compensated mode when you are warm enough or if you leave it on manual make sure the temperature is reset to normal.
I now leave the unit running as normal (weather compensated) but turn the hot water and timer off and let the programmable room stats do the necessary temperature control.
They've got a holiday setting and I set them all back to 10 degrees but make sure that the heating comes on the day before we return. It's a bit of a faff as we've got eight of them but it does ensure that we come home to a warm house. The heatpump only runs if any of the thermostats call for heat.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -

Back to your system Richardc for the moment.
Have been going through the manuals, your info and this is what I think.
1) You need to look at changing the circulation pumps to higher flow rate units. The outward/return flow temps look as though they are getting too high. Ideally, they should be around a 7C delta.
2) You are trying to operate the system similar to a conventional system, whereas it is meant to be a 24/7 unit.
Smooth the room heating temperatures, as at the moment you are heating to 21C and then dropping them back to 18C for quite a long time. As I said before, go to 19C and adjust from there, or alternatively stay at the 21C and use the TRV valves for the rooms you need at lower temps.
We're trying to get my planet and Yorkshire energy services to sort this out. It's never worked right and it's been in for a
year and a half. Yes we need bigger pumps, they have been out and recommissioned it twice and they have still haven't got it right. Terrible company.
Will try the night set back to 19c from 18c and see. Believe it or not MIL was warm enough at the temps last night she doesn't like the house too warm.If you found my post helpful, please remember to press the THANKS button! --->0 -
Sorry Smaf, ignore what I've said, my controller is different to yours - our machine is now about four and a half years old and just coming out of it's 5th winter. I think Daikin changed the controller unit a year or so ago
I note that yours has got a holiday mode and various other tweaks that mine doesn't have although the basic concept of making sure that you either don't let the place get too cold or that you set it so there's plenty of time to allow the temperature to recover if you do is still valid.
Depending on how cold the place is, the flow temperature and size of rads it could take 24-36 hours or even more - mine takes about 36 hours (underfloor heating), don't forget at this time of the year the house is losing heat nearly as fast as the heating system is supplying it so recovery will be quite slow especially if the unit is only just big enough to supply the heating demand.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
Have you any other heaters you can use to help? Also not sure why your rads are still cold if it's been running that long, surely the rads would be upto temp quite quick within a few hours,If you found my post helpful, please remember to press the THANKS button! --->0
