Think my daughter's laptop was affected by this after using Limewire.
I downloaded the removal tool from Norton and ran it in safe mode as suggested, and it seemed to do the trick.
That is, it didn't show up on subsequent Norton antivirus scans ( the Protection Centre that comes with BT Broadband).
The reason i'm asking is cos this didn't seem to work for amateur_saver and when i askd the guy in the shop he said that removal tools don't work and the only way is to re-format hard drive and reload WindowsXP.
Any advice would be most welcome!
see my post no#73
i too have BT's norton internet security which couldn't get rid, and so had to remove it with a free download, still hasn't come back (famous last words, i know) norton tells you where it is (limewire/incomplete) but cant delete it:mad:0 -
As i'm a CCC (completely clueless curmodgeon), how do i find sunshine54's post no(#)73? - or any of anyone else's for that matter!
Wot's the difference between a 'post' & a 'thread'?
Is it me, or is this site not very UF? Are all fora like this?
I tried to submit my query twice yesterday (having logged in) only for my entry to be wiped clean, and be told that I needed to log in to submit an entry!(@ which point I took the hint and went to bed) would it have been cos i had earlier unlogged in MSE pages open?0 -

Jumbly ~ I would personally say this is one of the nicest forums going (yesterdays fiasco not withstanding)
You need to be 'logged in' before you can do anything
A Thread is the whole posts added together. A post is a singular post.
I asked you to goto here ~
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.html?f=29
Select 'new thread' (top left ish)
And post your queery
By all means try elsewhere if you wish, but I think youll find theyre not as nice a bunch as we are (I am talking from experience here)
I simply ask for you to begin your OWN thread as otherwise it can get difficult for us to sort between everyones problems (so 1 poster per thread):idea:0 -
