  • I have been given £700 in argos vouchers following a burglary in which my 40 inch tv walked!

Any suggestions on what to buy would be most welcome.

We're after an LCD but will sacrifice size for quality - we were a little disappointed with the previous quality and were almost glad to see the dusty stand amongst the rest of the carnage they left us with!

    Thanks for reading

I have a 42" Toshiba Regza that we bought about 1.5 years ago and paid over £1000 for. I'm very disappointed with it - the screen has what seem to be burn marks on the left side - blurry blackish patches that appear in particular when one colour is displayed - mainly blue or greens.
It isn't the cables or the source - the TV is at fault.
Even though it isn't very old we're going to have to buy another one because the marks drive me mad. And I certainly wouldn't buy a Toshiba again.

Have you complained to Toshiba?? £1000 for 1.5 years isnt the experience thay would want advertised about so am sure you might have got some help from them had you asked but possibly only before posting on here.
Buy from John Lewis or Costco and get free 5 yr warrenty... John Lewis will price match shops but not Online outlets.
I save so I can spend.
  • I am looking for a silver 32" LCD with 2no scart connections.
    Has anyone noticed one??
    Thanks

Panasonic TX-L42S10B is 800 quid in Tesco stores, but through Tesco direct it is 650 with a 50 pounds grocery voucher. Tried to get one in store for the on line price, but couldn't, so ordered it on line. Didn't think we'd get a Panasonic of this size for our budget........Bargain
  • Hello, long time fan, first time poster!

Have noticed this at Argos - 32" Hitachi with 2 scart sockets & 2 HDMI for £291.89

You can use their free reserve option to keep one back for you or have it delivered for under 6 quid.

This won't let me post the link so the product number is 529 4529

    Hope this helps out. ;)

    I recently brought this TV:

    http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.206-6049.aspx

I am not sure if its any good spec wise but it seems to have good sound and the picture is good as well. £280 + delivery. It looks nice as well.
You can also have upto 8 devices attached via various different ports. Touch of a button allows you to change source.

If you're not necessarily looking for the cheapest screen possible, but are looking for a good quality "full HD" screen that's smaller than 32", why not buy a 24" LCD computer monitor with an HDMI input?
I took my own advice and bought a 24" 1080p monitor from Dell for £185 delivered.

Picture quality is absolutely stunning when playing DVDs or AVIs from my laptop (using VideoLAN player to upscale the image to 1080p). BBC HD through Freesat is very impressive and the non-HD channels also look much better than standard Freeview. Xbox360 games look really good too.
