I have had the Normende 32" for a week now, which I bought from CDiscount for £249, best value bit of kit I've bought in a long time. Loads of controls, loads of i/o ports. Normende has a website in Ireland .ie but the tele is made in Italy. Added bonus - it has a manufacturers TWO year guarantee.

All I need is the sky code, tried all the ones for onther normende sets listed but none work.

How is the sound quality and do you find that the DVB tuner is picking up channels without issue? I'm thinking about getting this one, but could you give me your opinion? Thanks...

    Hi

I'm trying to find two tvs, one for my room and one for the kids. Our own home TV is an ancient chunky sort so I am thinking lcds will not need to be so brilliant to notice the improvement!!!

Have a maximum £400 for the two, preferably less (obviously). I'm very conscious that TV/DVD combis tend to have more problems than just TVs don't they? I'd have also preferred 22".

Bearing that in mind I saw this in Argos
    http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5293946/c_1/1%7Ccategory_root%7CHome+entertainment+and+sat+nav%7C12108813/c_2/2%7Ccat_12108813%7CTelevisions%7C12108983/c_3/3%7Ccat_12108983%7C14+inch+to+24+inch+LCD+TVs%7C12108998.htm

Is the 10000 ratio right?? Seems high for the price. Tried doing a search to back this up but can't find any Samsung for a similar price with that ratio or indeed another of the same model. And like I said would have preferred 22" but it seems a good quality.

I saw about that the 10000 ratio is good so was debating it for my room, however not sure the kids need something so high so was thinking something like this... http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.205-2533.aspx although it's out of stock, and for same 1000 ratio it's 165 with dvd for 19", which then leads me to think, only 35 for better. Although I can't afford a longer warranty (if one is offered) on top because 400 is my maximum budget.

We have just purchased a Tesco Technika LCD26-209. The picture and everything else are very good. But when we tried to connect the old VCR to the set, we cannot record the digital programmes and play back. We have tried using all the "source"- ETV1 ETV2 FTV etc, which one should we use? Can anyone help?
    Thank you.

Sorry to say, but you can't. This isn't a fault with the TV, it's how the technology works. Your video recorder is designed to take in a terrestrial signal from your aerial then pass it back out to the TV. It simply cannot recognise a digital signal so can't do anything with it.

You should be able to play back stuff you've already got recorded, most easily by connecting the video via one of the SCART sockets (very large plug, about 1.5"x0.5") but you can't record digital TV without the correct equipment.

This is another thing the nice government didn't bother to mention when they decided to force us all onto digital fro next year...
