Just popping in to say thank you all for your well wishes and prayers etc. I have my neurology apointment this evening and Dad's meeting with doctor about his results have been postponed till Thursday as Dad hasn't been well enough to go and i don't think they wanted to give out info about his results over the phone.

Will read through and give thanks tonight if i am not too tired after the neuro appointment. It was bitterly cold this morning and took 5 kettles of warm water to clear the windscreen so i could get the children to school!

    Bless you all!

Rzl  thanks sweetie. I'm booked in for induction next week - they are letting me go as far over my due date as possible in the hope that I'll still be able to give birth at home (very OS!) so please cross those fingers for me.

I was feeling a bit sorrr for myself - but when you read what other people have to put up with at the moment with jobs, health and snow, then I really have nothing to complain about at all :D

Good luck, R.Mac! You seem to have been pregnant for ages! Hope it all goes well and that you get a home birth.

I've put some photos of 'my' snow on FB - I've forgotten how to upload an album so there's only four photos because it was taking ages to upload them and I ran out of patience! I think everything on FB takes ages and I am not the most patient of people!

Sunnygirl - some people here are stocking up as if they expect to be snowbound for months!

It's starting to melt now but the sky looks full so I think it will snow again later.

    Keep warm and safe.

That's rubbish Loopy, hope you get something sorted. It's bad enough being ill but it's a real kick in the teeth when they cut your pay.

Yeah is kinda sucks! Feels like as soon as I just start to get myself back on my feet I get knocked back down again. Guess these things are just sent to try us! Not really an option for me to return to work right away so am just going to have to make that budget work!
Its hard to wait around for that something you know may never happen, but its harder to give up when you know its everything you ever wanted.........

I wonder if I can dare to venture out to the carpark to take a pic of the snowmen or will the post who skived off yesterday(I walked to where the sorting office was yesterday twice and today the sun is out and snow is melting fast) arrive with the 4 parcels and 6 letters I am expecting(that isnt including the flatmates maiL) in the 5 mins I leave the flat.. I mean it is 2pm already - not that that is late for them as they can come anytime up til now on a normal day..

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR I am SICK of sitting in waiting for them to deliver mail sent to me first class weeks ago when I could be out and about. My area is in no way crippled by snow today. We didn't have any more last night and I see from here that areas much worse affected have had deliveries today.

Sunnygirl - what a really lovely thing to do for the lad, I hope that everything works out well. It sounds as though his parents had some faults as well, fancy saying they wished they'd never adopted him, that is an awful thing to say. Perhaps being in a loving family environment will do him a world of good.

Roly - I too love Ladies of Letters on the radio, can't wait to see it on the telly, will have to catch a repeat as I'm working tonight.

Candy - any news on dd's house? And i hope the baby stops kicking her feet out!

Redruby - glad your nephew is doing well and being cared for somewhere that will help him. The soup is addictive, we all love it here! I'm sure with that and the choc fudge cake I shall soon be having to take up jogging or something - note that I'm not prepared to give up eating lol!

Linz - hope that somehow you manage to rejig your finances to cope.

Kath - I hope that your appt goes well this evening and your dad is still in my prayers xx

Well the house was full of girls giving each other facepacks and makeovers, have just bundled the older ones out to play! dd2 and her mate have rolled out the pizza dough for a second rising for tonight, thought the pasta bake might not stretch far enough - looked smaller than I remembered lol!

dd3 has just asked if she should give the facepack leftovers to the dog - avocado and yoghurt - hmm, don't think so!

Fab news, my friend has just texted to say she's had her baby, another little girl - her fourth! I'm so excited for her! My god daughter, her dd3 is apparently bouncing off the walls!

Well snow has just about melted away from the roads and pavements here, still on the grass though, hopefully it won't freeze overnight. dd2 keeps telling me we're going to get some more, but I think she's just hoping for another day off school!

Need to make some more twinks, all these kids are good at emptying my biscuit tin! Will set the little ones to work I think! I'll supervise with a cuppa and whilst browsing on here! Enjoy your afternoons all xx

PS - rmac, hope it isn't too long now! xx

I read the comment by penny pincher's DH and choked on my glass of water!!!

DD(15) waited around this morning trying to find out if her school was closed today as well as yesterday and eventually just went in as normal.

Had a last minute panic having to give her a cheque for two school blouses which were neither wanted nor needed. One particular teacher has been giving her a hard time for ages saying her blouse must be one bought at the school shop. None of the other teachers have a problem with this - not even the really tough disciplinarian one!!!!!

Have told DD that if she still gets grief from this teacher then I will be writing to the headmaster to complain. DD is a good student, clever and well behaved and neither needs nor deserves this!!!

Have put central heating on as getting really cold - no sign of the 6 inches of snow we were supposed to get.

No post at all today and no sign of the toiletries and stuff I ordered last Friday.

Potatoes have been parboiled and I might make roast potatoes and pork chops for tonight ( with chicken for picky DD).

Baking a few sausage rolls for DD (15) so she can take some for a packed lunch.

Had a long talk with DH this morning and think I managed to convince him that he should retire early and perhaps leave in a year or less while he still has a good pension scheme. If we could get our house sold and move to the area we like I would find it easier to convince him not to be still working.
