  • Good morning
Cold here this morning and the cars are making a great racket as they drive past, our side road doesn't get gritted and yesterdays snow didn't melt so froze in the night. OH went into work early and says the main roads are OK. I will go in 10 ish. I work part time so can be a bit flexible. The teens are still abed. Have put a light load in the wm which should finish in 10 mins or so and then will put on another load before I leave. Will put lentil soup in the sc once I have posted on here. Dinner tonight will be tagliatelle with leeks in cheese sauce.

Congratulations to Mr Tru for the job!:T

silvercharming - hope dave soon feels better

    (((hugs))) to Tristan and Diva

I managed to fall over last night in the ice and bang my knee while dog walking - nothing serious though but it was a bot of a shock and my legs were like jelly afterwards. Just a bit sore this morning.
I'm off to work in a bit so nothing much OS today. I've hung the washing on the airers and we're having leftovers for tea(taking mine to work) Might manage a bit of ironing before work if I feel inclined:D

Hope you all have a great day
    take care x

    Morning All!
DS went to college (only 5 minutes away) and found a notice saying it was closed, so he's back home and working on his portfolio for his Uni interview.

OH is in Dorset, and said when he went out this morning it was -10

I haven't been out, but DS says it's lethal out there. Seeing as how I fall over in the dry, I'm not chancing the ice! :rotfl: :rotfl:

tru I laughed at your remark so did DS!:rotfl:

HM lasagne last night, got to look at what we are having tonight.

    Have a good day all!

  • Good morning Chums ,well no more snow thank goodness and the sun is struggling to come out ,but it is very cold here and the roads outside look like skating rinks so I think its another day indoors for me .No point in going out just to fall over.Bangers and mash for dinner tonight and lunch will probably be a cheese toastie.
I might try to sort out some of my books today. I have a lot to go to the charity shop but I can box them up.Plus I must make my grandson a birthday card, he is 9 on the 24th feb.
All the schools are still closed in this area owing to the ice and there are very few cars at all out on the roads.
My DD starts her new job this morning so I am hoping she will enjoy it.
A little bit of ironing to knock off before lunch and thats about all for today.Might watch Who Do You Think You Are on catch-up t.v. this afternoon.
Hope everyone is o.k. and keeping well wrapped up.Just think another couple of weeks and spring will be here with all the bulbs out and this horrible winter will soon be forgotten. <Hugs> to those who are down and blue and to the rest of you have a good day
    Cheers JackieO xx

Morning all..........((((((((HUGS)))))))))))) if you need one.

Its a bright sunny morning, we still have snow, but judging from the slushy sound of the cars going by its starting to thaw.......we did not have anymore last night, although it was still flaking a bit when we went to bed.

No plans to go out today, will wait till the snow has gone, not keen for either of us to take a tumble.

I got mince out of the freezer to make spag bol for supper tonight. I woke in the night with one of my teeth doing a jig.........took some pain killers and a small slug if whisky, held the whisky by my tooth as long as I could before swallowing it.......it still feels a bit jiggy this morning. Its a tooth had to have the filling replaced in 11 years ago, she said then she did not know how long it would hold for........looks like I might have to have a visit to the dreaded man. I hate having teeth out with injections, they have such a job wrenching them out of my jaw, would rather be asleep when they do the deed. Will see if it settles today, otherwise a visit tomorrow me thinks.

Heres hoping OH is ok today..........no walk for 2 days he will be tearing put what little hair he has left, but no way am I putting a foot out of the door whilst its like this............
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.
  • Morning Guys!

Tru-OH, DD & I all had a giggle about your husband's fat balls:D....OH said that he wished some bird would sit on his:rolleyes:.....DD thumped him for me as I dont have much energy this morning;)

Nurse has just been, so I am abit woozy. Had a good nights sleep though which is brilliant.

Still about 13" deep in snow here and completely snowed in. Due for more snow later today and DD's school still shut. I have my heat pad on under my back on the sofa, 3 layers on and socks on....I must look a sight, but at least I am warm. I have Raynards, so my knees/fingers/hands go blue and cold:o

WM & DW have been on. OH has done some ironing. Got a chicken cassarole going in SC and put in a butter browned onion, carrots, swede, 3 spuds quatered to thicken, tin of baked beans and the breasts. Also a sachet of Colemans...will serve with buttered mash later. I thought I had only got 3 breasts out but there were an extra 2, so OH has made a curry for lunch with it, but it does smell spicy.

OH popped to Lidl yesterday and walked there. He picked a few things up for his folks too who live close by. He is dropping a perscription in for his dad at the GPs in abit and will have to walk there as we are still snowed in in the cul-de-sac. I also have some scripts that need picking up as I am nearly out of pain killers.

Anyway, I hope all is well. Keep warm.

  • Good Morning troops,

Loads of snow here yesterday, proper blizzards all day. Got sent home quick from work too as boss lives along M8 and apparently it was like Wacky Races.
of course woke this morning to find NO SNOW! Can you belive it, nothing but wind and rain to greet me.Rubbish!
Had a lovely prawn stir-fry last night which was fab now that I have discovered Oyster Sauce.:j
Cleaned the en-suite last night and hung up a load of washing. Filled DW this morn before I left. Lunch is soup..again.. and tea will be beans on toast I think as I forgot to take out a pork chop from the freezer.

Went to the Doctor last night and got off from having the dreaded smear but now I have to book an appointment for another day:eek:
OH called this morn to say it's blue skys and sunshine on the rig but bitterly cold. Not surprised as he is in middle of North Sea:rotfl: Hope he gets back ok on the chopper on thursday. Feel like he has been away for 6 months not 3 weeks.
Tru - Congrats to your hubby, great news!
Hugs to everyone still struggling or just cos it's tuesday!lol
