Back from the docs and been given the check up from the neck up and told that it's a viral infection that's doing the rounds - starts with a sore throat and high temp, then sore head and sinuses and then heads south into the chest to produce a lingering cough..... Perhaps it's true what they say - a treated cold lasts 14 days and an untreated one lasts a fortnight.

Plenty of hot drinks, paracetamol for the sore head and cough sweets for the cough should do the trick.

Sunnygirl - well done you and your family for helping the young lad out when he's at an age where he needs support and a caring environment.
  • I feel very inspired today by everyone. Everyone is chipper and positive today!
Just nipped over to the DFW forum and there is some chat about what people do for lunches instead of buying expensive pre-mades from the shops. Good to see those money grabbers that sell the pre-mades losing a few customers:rotfl:

Decided to make a sponge cake and some choc chip muffins tonight...ah my showbiz life...

  • Hi friends,
Well, I got out for the test drive of the Quashquioi thingy car. It's really cute actually and yet bigger than you think, I was able to get in and out really easily too due to it being high up from the road. Wasn't entirely comfortable for me so we shall keep looking, plus even on motability you have to pay so that may knock that one off the list, but at least its there as a possibility.

And while we were out we were passing a local butchers in the next town that I have never used before and so the OH went in and got the hugest peice of belly pork for about £4, and 8 butchers sausages for £1.80, great big thick things! Talk about value! Plus he said that if we go back on Thurdsay he will have some pigs skin (crackling!!!!!) for us as he is prepping loins. My OH asked if he was busier due to Jamies programme, and he said not as much as he thought. But we are so glad to find him and will be back there now. It's a bit of a drive but if we can work it around doing something else too then it will be worth it.

Celyn - congrats.pngon passing your VIVA - well done you!!!

To be frugal, you need to spend money wisely, simply spending less is not enough.
