I love my trolley!
I wouldn't be without it now. I wish I'd bought one years ago. I have no idea why I was embarrassed, when I'm out they are everywhere!
I think the trick is in choosing the right one for you.0 -
I have a backpack that has wheels. Hoike it up on your shoulder going out, and wheel it back. Lighter bags from the shops can be hooked over the handle too. Very handy when going into the city on the bus/tram and looks like I've been away for the weekend rather than shopping!
I see practically all the young wans these days in town with the small wheelie suitcases, and sometimes enormous ones that they use for transporting their goodies.
The shopping trolly is fine, but anything on wheels is a must if you are walking or using public transport. Think of your shoulders ladies, and your backs!0 -
I don't use one but now that you've given me the idea I most definitely will be! I think it's a fab idea!
I agree with others about finding one that's pretty... you may well even start a new trend!July Grocery Challenge : £40.41/£200.000 -
Love them?I've been using mine for about 5 years! I bought mine in Habitat 5 years ago. It's red canvas and folds up flat so I can fit it in a little bag. I can also put another small bag on top of it and it has a compartment in the front for change or my oystercard. Since injuring my back a few years ago I've always used it and have never looked back. I don't care how I look pulling one as long as I can still walk after buying groceries. ;o)
Cheers

I have a discontinued John Lewis Trolley which cost £30 at the time as a Birthday Present which I use for Offline Shopping Trips.
I am totally idiotic if I forget to take it with me because I can end up impulse shopping (not good!) and have on occasions ended up with two very heavy bags on my shoulders to lug back home.
I am as far away from the Granny Model as possible.
I think Shopping Trollies should be both glamorous and extremely functional. I would NOT go out with a Granny Model. But I highly recommend shopping with a Trolley as a default option.#TY[/B] Would be Qaulity MSE Challenge Queen.

I like to use my car as little as possible, even more so now the cost of petrol is rising so high. A shopping trolley seems to be the answer if i can pluck up the courage. What are your thoughts?
Get your bicycle out of the shed and buy yourself some good quality pannier bags. It's less "embarrassing" and healthier too...0 -
Another non driver here (32) who loves her shopping trolley!
My current one is bright blue PVC with thisfunky camper van design on. I've had (and totally worn out) a few in the past!
Personally I think the bag with tiny wheels type are useless for all but the lightest of items - very unstable.
Also it's important to get one the right height for you. My mum has a rectangular shaped cow print one, which is a couple of inches shorter than mine, and I find pulling it hurts by back (and those bag on wheels ones tend to be very short). Also don't get one with a bigger bag capacity if you can't pull heavier weights, you'll find a slightly smaller bag much easier to handle.
I did try a holdall with small wheels but it was very unbalanced with anything in it and the corners got worn through very quickly!
Good sturdy wheels and a well made metal frame, with a funky design & roomy bag suits me.A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0 -

My mum has panniers on her bike, very useful if you are doing a planned shop (and I'm amazed how much she can fit in them), but no good for a "day out" shopping etc.A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0 -
I have to admit I wouldn't be seen dead with one, even a funky one, but that's because of a childhood spent shopping with my mum and her granny trolley.......she still has one because neither she or my dad can drive so she shops locally most days and would be lost without one!!!! It used to make me cringe as no-one else's mum had one as they all had cars, it was so uncool.
But, I know a few thirty something mum's at school who have them so I would say if you go for it, make sure it's not remotely grannyfied!!!! Even now if I'm with her and mum says 'hold the trolley a minute with you' I'm like 'nooooooooooooooo!!!'0
