Quite right dear. I'd give it a bit longer though. I found Tramadol suppressed my appetite. I know that's not what it is for but that was the only pleasant side effect for me. Unfortunately it made me too spacey and I need to drive to pick the kids up so had to stop that. Also it never took the pain away but then nothing has so far
Tramadol definitely doesn't have that effect on me! About 30mins after taking it I'm starving! With or without appetite suppressants...

I have never seen it listed for fibro but I definately have it. That and noise, sometimes to the point where I freak out and shout at everybody to shut up cos I just can't cope with everybody speaking at the same time. I need people to speak one at a time with no other noise iykwim?
Ikwym. My sister has similar symptoms and she's really bad (in terms of patience and freak-out-ability) with the noise sensitivity thing. I always thought it just peed me off cos I can't hear (partically deaf) if everything's going on at once...
I get confused with the ME/Fibro thing. Do I have both? Are they the same thing? If not, does everybody with Fibro have ME?
I do too - especially as I've been dxed with both! I always list them as seperate illnesses, usually (and I'm not ashamed! :o) cos if you don't get a reaction for one, you do for the other. People tend to classify Fibro as a rhuemi complaint and ME as a neuro complaint. I asked my consultant a few weeks ago whether it was the same or different and I didn't get a crystal clear answer but she did say that they were "under the same umbrella". She reckoned that Fibro patients predominantly get the pain symptoms and that ME patients predominantly get the fatigue and the other associated symptoms, such as the glandular problems, temperature regulation etc. I think that they're very similar but not sure if they're the same, but I do know that depending on who you talk to you get a very different reaction to both. With ME, it's also called Chrionic Fatigue Syndrome, which is somewhat (IMHO) misleading as it's not just fatigue - so most people with it prefer to call it ME.... but because of the stigma with it (yuppy disease etc) you don't always get an unsneering reaction when you say you have it. Fibro tends to be received better, from experience. Whether that's cos they've never heard of it or not, I couldn't say...

Look at me doing multiquotes!!! :T :T :T Most excellent! (who did the Bill/Ted voice???) :D
Well done :T (And yes, I may've done the voice :o;))

Kass I hope your back pain thing goes quickly and it's "just" a Fibro pain, iyswim?

Raeh don't stress about the test results, if it was anything worth worrying about they'd have you in sooner.

Cwta hope your sniffles and snuffles clear up soon. I've had this cold for about 7 wees now, it's not even slightly amusing!

Unity glad you're feeling better again and have come to rejoin us.

Lamewolf  Hope you feel more sensibubble soon ;)

Carnation the rules of posting are confusing, but we try to stick to them without getting told off!

Do have a look - as this is where they are thinking of getting married!
*BZ's ears !!!!! up* Did someone mention a wedding??:D

It looks lovely Unity, and I'd be jealous if I wasn't secretly horrified about the costs my brain is running up in the background ;)

DS knee thing sounds both horrendous and unfortunately not uncommon. I had a similar thing when I was a teen, I'd slipped and the bottom half of my leg ended up pointing the wrong way from my knee! A&E were completely uninterested and although I couldn't walk they didn't offer crutches (I had to basically hold a sit in til I got some!). Some years later I have a privately done scan on it and it turns out I've torn the ligaments and damaged the cartlidge and there was talk of key hole surgery (which I politley turned down. I'd rather manage with the pain that opt for surgery :o). Not quite the same horror story, but I can relate, iyswim?

P.s. Jamla hope the eye gets better soon. I had some weird eye lid infection last year that kept coming back...still not quite worked out what it was!

Suep hope your hands feel better soon :)

  • unity I used to live very close to Eltham Palace and it's beautiful. I am a bit fan of anything Art Deco and my pride and joy possession is a Makintosh chair. I always swore I would own one.
Fabulous place to get married. Does she live nearby? Tha was very much my neck of the woods for years.

p.s. My 1st wedding was here http://www.knowlecountryhouse.co.uk/. Not at all in the same league.

*waves* Back in England, and I was on holiday, and it was fun :) Hey all! Hope things are okay round here?

Re. the similarities between CFIDS/ME and FMS, I think it's because they are both primarily neurological, from what most of the studies seem to indicate. They do have a lot in common between the two conditions...
