I know that this is a forum for Fibromyalgia but is there a forum for Rheumatoid arthritis and/or Osteo arthritis?
For a start - I'm one of many who probably has systemic lupus (I say probably in my case, 'cos the docs aren't 100% sure despite having many of the symptoms that would suggest it). So if you want to join in - just dive in.s/e0 -

If you've had a hearing impairment for many years you get into the habit of lipreading without realising it. Put dark/tinted lenses on and you can't see peoples lips so easily, ergo you can't 'hear' what they're saying so well.
you could be right there, im slightly deaf in my right ear and have trouble hearing people if they arent facing me or there are certain pitches i cant pick up and i can hardly hear at all if theres many different noises at once like in a pub?? but i was told the glasses thing is, my eyes are workig harder to 'see', so my brain thinks less about my ears? does that make sense?
anyway have a good day everyone ..... im sooooooooo glad its friday2009-£7500 2010 £10800 2011 £2000

Good morning folks! I trust you all had at least a halfway decent sleep. I had another bit better night last night. I don't mind getting up before 8 if I've managed to get more than a couple of hours sleep during the night. It's when I've not mananged more than 1/2 hour every 2 - 3 hours that it really bites.
It's Friday - I hope that's good news for all those who have to go to work (it can be good news for those of us who don't have to go to work as well), just get through today and then you've got a couple of days when you can flake out if you need to.
zippy you got your bb sorted out yet?s/e0 -
sue That is good news about your Dad! Chuffed.
s/e, hope your sleeps continue to improve.
The dreaded Sister arrives this afternoon for the weekend. Dealing with Dad in a strong way has made me feel equipped to take her on as well if she starts, but I don't want to deliberately start any confrontations. I'm just in no mood to be compliant. Wonder if she'll drive me to drink *wry grin*I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
LW make sure mr LW rings sooner rather than later
*politely nags due to picking up tips from s/e and cwta* you maybe be right about the stress if you are worried about the quiz, is it because its a special one?? sorry if im questioning and you dont want that
id like to say im interested or intrigued but actually im just down right bluddy nosey
Yes it is a special one; landlord Reg has recently hosted a quiz for leukaemia research, and we were discussing the fact that he only does quizzes occasionally, and always for a "good cause". So I jokingly said "well, if you ever feel like doing one for lupus...." and he jumped at the idea and insisted on setting a date there and then! One day I'll learn to keep my big trap shut.
I mean, it's really great that he's doing it, but I'm so nervous cos I usually stay well in the background and let Mr LW do all the talking - even to the point of whispering quiz answers to him and letting him put them to the rest of the team for consideration (iyswim). And on non-quiz visits (ie the majority) I just sit quietly in the corner and let MR LW chat (which he can do for England:p)
Now I'm going to me much more in the limelight than I'd like, as I'll have to go and collect the "takings" from Reg at the end of the evening, and everyone will be looking at me.:eek:l
LOL it sounds pathetic, doesn't it?But it's quite a big thing for someone with social phobia.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Raeh, you're not being nosey at all.:o

I do totally understand how you feel. I nearly cancelled my first wedding because I couldn't stand the thought of being up there in front of people with them watching me.
When I was younger, I was so shy I wouldn't even go into a shop on my own.
I am OK now, but I "learned" to be socially confident - I used to pretend that I was super-confident, attractive, witty etc and play it almost as a role until it became part of me naturally. That being said, if I'm in the company of more than 2 other people, I revert to being unable to cope again.
I am not minimising your social phobia, which must be on another level entirely, but could you perhaps try this out this one time? Keep in your mind the positive outcome of getting back home with Mr LW congratulating yourself that you did it.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
p.s. Perhaps Mr LW can go up with you to collect the takings?
p.p.s I keep forgetting to say, we haven't forgotten you Unity. Hope you're feeling a bit brighter.
p.p.p.s. am still nagging BZ about getting broadband sorted, but she's a stubborn lass - gawd help the poor bloke if she ever decides to get married *grin*

In reality there are only so many ways of creating a 'quote' tag - as long as you can see what brackets are used (some use the [ ] brackets others use the < > brackets) it then becomes a doddle to do.
Then there's copy an' paste which makes things even easier - 'specially if like here you've not only got a poster's name in the tag but an ID number as well.
How do Saffie - I hope you had a resonable sleep last night. I didn't do too badly - didn't wake up 'til just afte 8 this morning, which is an improvement on 6.30 or 7. It looks like I'm going to get my body clock reset just in time for the clocks to go forward and &ugger it up again. Deep joy.im still not understanding. im still convinced the oramorph keeps me awake? was awake just looking at the back of my eyes last night.
