saucy secrets One of my friends was turned down about 4 times for DLA, we wouldnt let her give up and eventually she got it, I reckon they got so fed up with her in the end they gave it to her to shut her up , so dont give in.

    BZ Hope mil2b is ok

cwta I hope your dads better now. The books arrived today, thankyou so much they look really good. Ive just brought a highly reccomended trilogy that I will send you once I've read. Im in the middle of a couple of books right now though so I wont be starting it just yet.

    Sharon thinking of you today

Kass I know that feeling well and am a bit like that myself at the moment, hope you get used to the tablets soon.

I cant think of anything else although it was nice to see raeh posting again. Apologies if Ive forgotten anyone x

pcl i have never heard of anyone else being scared of moths :o i cant believe so many people are on here. If i get any in the house in summer because of the windows open at night iv been known to hide under a blanket so they cant dive bomb me and wait til dh is home. The kids think im mad but im sure they do it on purpose and dive bomb my head with those big fat bodies *shivers*

the do that to me too! i keep the windows closed when lights are on to stop the blighters gettign in, if they do get in well whitney used to get locked in the room with them until they were dead...if i could get out of the room that is, otherwise it was under the duvet and tuck it in all round me so they could not get me and scream for whitney, or chloe now lol. but they were the tiny ones, i didnt knwo they came in such big sizes or there were so many types here. nasty nasty things.

saucy try dial again, explain you were refused and you need support to appeal etc. also check our benefits and work, they have a few wonderful guides to the whole process, but memebrship is 16ish quid a year, i think its well worth it, but its a problem scraping that together to access the guides. see if the council or hopsital have a welfare rights worker. or there is an organisation here attached to gps which also help with things like that, maybe there is something similar in your area?
  • Thanks everyone...still feeling so disheartened.

I'm writing a big letter now, stating exactly what I need help with, and why the refusal letter is completely wrong. I'm using the application form to make sure I cover everything...

How long do DLA appeals usually take? I'm going to uni in September, and so need to be on DLA to get housing benefit and ESA while I'm there, or I can't afford to go...

Can I ask for it to be rushed?

    God I'm so stressed....
    Signature down for maintenance :rotfl:
  • No idea, I think you ask them to look at it again first, then appeal and I think it can take a few months...maybe ask on the benefits board here?
  • I finally reached overload point today (you know where if you hear just one more noise, your brain will explode?) and am off to lie down in a darkened room with a book.

Hugs to everyone and I'll try again later.
I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to break :D

hi my appeal ,mind you we suspended it a few times to get more evident took 10 months ! but think if straight forward maybe 6 weeks ,mmm sorry not so sure

i got housing benefit before i got dla so you don't need to get dla first for housing benefit , i think you get a little extra premium when you do get it
i was doing all this myself untill i ask local disability centre to help me , best thing i could ever do , they suggested evident i never would have though off , and i signed away my name so they could write to my doctor on my behalf for notes ect. they could fax evident to dla direct . this is time saving.
lots of things they could do.
have you had doctor out to access you ? if so did you get copy of his report ?
