  • just figured out...its the pipe coming out of the wall that is leaking, heard it dripping, must have been doing so for an age for the water to have worked its way across to in front of the sink and be wet enough to squeeze through/mess up joins in the laminate.

poor lita, catflap sorted will be good for her...as long as the other cats dont follow her in.

enjoy having your hair done sue

Oh my, you lot were busy yesterday while I was flaked out unable to do anything. Other than regular dashes to the bathroom, that is._pale_ Couldn't even take Molly out, Mr LW had to take her.:(

Great wedding car BZ, we had Mr LW's ancient BMW.:p

Sharon well done on getting the quilt done.

Can't remember who mentioned it, but yes my breadmaker does have a built-in timer..... but that would require me to be organised enough to think about making bread in advance.
    Which reminds me:

    TOMATO BREAD
    1 1/4 teaspoons yeast
    10 oz white bread flour
10 oz malted or wholemeal bread flour
    2 teaspoons sugar
    1 1/2 teaspoons salt
9 or 10 sun-dried tomatoes, cut into pieces
    1 oz butter
    12 1/2 fl oz milk

    Put yeast in breadmaker pan.
Add everything else bar butter and sugar (I know some breadmakers say add the toms or whatever later, but I find it's better to put them in at the start).
    Put butter in on top.
    Pour milk in .
Switch on - I use the Rapid Bake setting and the Light Crust option.
I use half white and half malted flour as I find it's a lighter loaf than using all malted.

Auntie Axe I hope you're feeling a bit more cheerful; you're probably right, it's a bit of an anticlimax now after all the excitement and rushing about for your house move.

Tria sorry to hear about your tooth. Real bummer, that.

*Sigh* there was more I was going to reply to. Forgive me folks, I'm so darned tired I can barely keep my eyes open, and I've some more jobs I must get done today if possible. Hopefully back later.:o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • Thank you so much for the tom bread lw.

I have had one of "those" days today and am far too tired, stressed etc to post properly.
Hope everyone is OK - bz You've been quiet today are you OK?
I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to break :D

I'm ok Auntie Axe, just been busy today (and yesterday) and feel like pap. I'm sure my tonsilitis is coming back again...in the other tonsil  I've got my appt with the dental hospital tomorrow morning (9.30am:shocked:) so I'm hoping they'll take me on that it's dragging my system down - I've felt the infection of it more over the last few weeks and had tonsilitis (if this is what it is again) twice in a month. Coinkidink? I think not.

Today I went to pick up other B2B, as we were gonna go underwear shopping but life took over and I had some bits to do in town; banks and moving monies over (post card decline last week) and DF's managed to snap the bridge of his glasses (needs them to drive) so had to go to the opticians for him, get some bday cards, take some tops back, etc etc. Then barely had time to come back home for 5 mins before going for DF and then went straight from his work to an out of town retail park to the big Tescos to look for shirts and shoes....I *think* he's found not only his shirt but also shirts for the ushers! :j (we bought up the sizes we think they'll need so they can come try on and cough up ;)) He's yet to try them on tho, so I'm not holding my breath just yet. ;) He's tried on some shoes (in a size too big) in Asda that he thought were really comfy (which never happens!) so hoping that he'll find them in his size somewhere and that'll be another thing done!! I'll feel so much better when the shoes and shirts are DONE.

Am knackered now. T'as been a looong day.:o Esp when not feeling wrong.

    morning

bz one of these days you will actually manage to get to go underwear shopping. good luck witht he dental hosp. i agree not a coinkydink at all.

cwta hope you managed a decent sleep and are feeling more rested and less stressed this morning.

plumber is coming back "first thing" to fix, he turned something off yesterday which stopped the dripping.
this afternoon whitney shall have to go vets again. she woke me up by being sick somwhere, and repeatedly as opposed to once. i cant find the evidence though. she is doing bette ront he shorter acting steroid though, its been weeks again.
  • bz Til after the wedding can you arrange a monthly transfer from your savings to the current account so your cards don't get declined? Just in case you have a standing order or direct debit that bounces and you get a nasty charge?
If you don't end up needing the money, you can always transfer it back?
Fingers crossed all went well at fang hossie and that they can help you somehow.

pcl Ahhh, I bet he turned off the upper-standing, under-lying inlet hose out flange *g* Fingers crossed the problem gets solved this time.
Cuddles to Whitney - poor purr baby. It's always a worry when you can't find the actual sick - have you checked your slippers? *g*

I had a rushing round day planned yesterday which made me feel a little overwhelmed and then went round late afternoon to have dinner with Dad as his wife's gone to America to see her son and he was absolutely piddled out of his brains. He was slurring, staggering around etc and it was a real shock as he hasn't touched a drop for almost three months and hit me hard as I had really been looking forward to spending some time with just me and him.
Doesn't excuse it, but it turtns out to have been precipitated partly by an article he had read on dementia that he had recognised some of the symptoms of in himself - of course he bleedin had - he's 85 !!!!!!!
So I got angry, shouted, said some home truths, cried a bit etc.
We parted having both vented and he phoned me this morning full of apologies saying how he had let me down and that he won't drink again. Hmmmmm.
I love him to bits coz he's my Dad, but he drives me absolutely spare sometimes.
I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to break :D

  • lw, sorry - hope you feeling better today. I do find flat coke handy for upset tummy, or rehydration salts when you start to feel a little better? Peppermint tea can help too. Give Molls a cuddle for me.

For Suep, Aunty Axe and anyone else who is interested, and/or suffering too much with the pain to be able to do much but read, or do crafty things - here is the authorised version of "Midnight Sun" - the story from Edward's POV. Initially this was illegally distributed on the Net - but if you follow this link, you'll see this is genuine and from the author herself.

    http://www.stepheniemeyer.com/midnightsun.html

Sharon - Great that you finished the quilt :T - any chance we can see a pic? I love looking at other people's handiwork, another reason why S/E is so sorely missed :(. My Stitch and B1tch group have decided to knit for the Macmillan appeal http://www.macmillan.org.uk/Get_Involved/Worlds_Biggest_Coffee_Morning/theknitter.aspx which is a great excuse for me to stop fretting over an intarsia cardi that I'm busy with :D. 20cm squares should fly off the needles.

PCL - I still haven't got those Gulf pics scanned in - I need one of those things that I saw once in a gift shop in Warkworth http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/server.php?show=nav.13348 - a "Round Tuit" :Dhttp://www.quantumenterprises.co.uk/roundtuit/

LW - I hope you had a good Lammas/Lughnasadh, do you know, it came and went without me even realising  which goes to show how out of it I have been.

I'm off to audiology this afternoon (3.30) to get my hearing aid for my left ear and a new impression taken for the right one - due to the vent being forgotten and then drilled with too large a drill - hence whistling :whistle::whistle:. That's in the next town - then I have to be back for a GP appointment at 4.30 - probably cutting it fine but DH can be very Mark Weber like ;) given half the chance. :D

I booked a double appointment as I've got the blood test results to get, another adjustment to the thyroxin dosage, a referral to sort out and hopefully a letter of support to the pain clinic to confirm I will take any cancellation going for the facet joint injections and transforaminal epidural. I don't know why I should be so eager  as I can think of nicer procedures - including emergency catheterisation, a camera up the jaxy and giving birth - not to mention a driving test :rotfl:. These were a walk in the park compared to having this done when conscious - and having to lie face down and stay very still:eek: :o.

I hope the weather isn't too bad where you are - it's supposed to be much better for the rest of the week and great by Friday - but then they always get our hopes up for the weekend ;).

  • cwta you lost me after upper in that :) whatever he turned off stopped the dripping though, and whatever he fixed seems to ahve fixed it.

unity that seems like a wonderful invention, i need one too :) good luck with the audiology dept and the gp.

leak is sorted, didnt take him long at all. now as long as i dont wind up with toadstools growing through my kitchen floor (again) im going to leave it to dry itself. if it doesnt ill see about getting it pulled up and replaced again.

whitney is all steroid and antibioticed up again, they had me bring her straight down when i phoned for an appointment. she has lost another 0.25kg in weight though which is worrying. she ran faster than i have seen her run i ages when she realised i had her and keys and was heading for the door. guess she really did not like the last trip to the vets lol, she hasnt tried to escape like that in years. now my white shirt is black form her shredding. and saw m old postman while i was there, he not only recognised me and the cat as someone he used to deliver too but also remembered my name.

not checked my slippers, nto sure were they are actually, but did check my shoes....its probably in th emidst of my clean laundry ont he bedroom floor, or in my clean bedding under the bed.

chloes present last night, or possibly this morning as she came in and went straight upstairs, was a mauled dragonfly ont he second to top stair....i hope she doesnt start bringing presents to my bedroom, i can not deal with moths up there.

You sure about that?? lol. I do need a bra (that fits my new fat size:rolleyes:) before the hen do on Saturday...more flattering than croptop/sports bra type things...:o
Dental hospital was a wash. A very ridiculous and infuriating one. I got there (in another town about 20mins away) and after a bit of a wait a nurse came to ask me if I'd been given my xray by my dentist to bring. No, they hadn't. They hadn't sent it to the hospital either. Would I go and get it from my dentist and bring it back? Yes, if necessary, but would it not be easier and quicker to get a taxi to bring it over? She asked. They couldn't provide that facility. So off I went, seething, back to my hometown, to my ludicrously ineffecient and ineffective dentists, to get said xray...who then, get this, told me I had to return it after my appointment! So then I had to go all the way back to the hospital, and went in to see the dentist bloke, who confirms the procedure I need (I've known for nearly 3 yrs ) and I ask how long it'll be and they say 3 months. I tell them all about my conditions and the blood tests (which he dismissed) and the effect the stupid abcess is having, as well as the wedding, and nothing. I ask if I could get it done privately, they say yes but it'll be expensive. I ask for a ball park, he tells me it'll be into 4 figures.

I can't keep a monthly transfer on the account because I don't pay for the things for the wedding that regularly and I pay for nearly everything via credit card, so I do have a month to get the money from the wedding fund to my current account. It's not the wedding bills that are the issue with the card declining etc - it's the household bills that are coming out of my accounts because everything's in my name til we're married. DF doesn't transfer money over as quickly as he should (which is exacerbated atm because he got that Alliance & Leicester account and all the debit things have been cocked about for a bit) and the rent comes out a day or few before he gets paid. And I don't have enough of a buffer zone in my overdraft to accomodate the cross over.:o

Hope that those feeling dodgy are feeling better, including any fur babies affected ;)
