    Hi everyone,

Didn't manage to post yesterday, I had to conserve all my energy for work, I felt awful.

Pap, I'd think very carefully about going back to work if I were you. Maybe see if you could do part time. I've no alternative at the moment to working full time but I know my personal life suffers because of it. I very often have to go to bed as soon as I get home and spend the weekends trying to rebuild my energy for the week ahead, it's very frustrating.

Hope you feel better soon cwta and lw.

Better go and get on, I'm off to a 2 day seminar tomorrow so I need to make sure everything is in order befors I go.

Oh paprika, what a decision to have to make. I am maybe not the best person to advise as I was retired on health grounds from teaching.I get a measly £300 a month but it is better than nothing. Do you think you can manage working full time again? Or can you go back to part time work.
I am thinking of volunteering at the youth club for two hours a week as I do miss working with young people. I am seriously dithering becaus once I sign up they will be reliant on me as the second adult needed for ratio of adults to young people.

Can you find a friend to look after perry instead of paying kennel fees. I offer to look after friends dogs and cats then I can ask them look after mine when I am away.

Paprika If you rally want to return to work, can you try and find a friend who can pop in maybe to see to perry?
But don't go back to work unless you really have to, health is so more important !!!. I know thats easier said than done , but if you go back to soon ar while you are still having problems this will only make it worse.
I used to be me !! what happened

Paparika I agree with Pcl, write down all the pros and cons on a piece of paper, pros one side, cons the other, and see which is the longer list. I can't really offer much in the way of advice, as I too was retired on medical grounds.

CwtA I hope you're having a restful day, and taking care of that ankle.

Luckily the my job is only 18.5 hours a week, just over 4 hours a day, perry will be fine, he can hold on, and since he has stopped chewing things that are not his, he tends to sleep on the sofa, then goes up to one of the beds usually mine and sleeps there until someone comes home,

Pro i really really need the money
con they treated me like scum (but i won't be working with that team as they will be letting me work nearer to home)

I would ask to be gradualy work my hours, rather start with a few and build up, but its just the remembering bit and the look on my trainer's face when i got it wrong again!!, and when the novelty of training me wore off and nasty catty remarks, well he's being made redundant and wouldn't be where i will be.

Yes i need to think about this more. they wont retire me as i am too young bless em

Anyhoo guys all your comments are lovely and so understanding, and yes trying to find someone who would have perry for the week will buy a bottle of something nice in return,

CwtA go easy on you ankle, those piccys of pups are soooo cute hugs to them all
Life is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?

  • pap Am not quite brain awake yet, but I think you should talk to solicitor about it before making any decision? I would just worry that it would weaken any case that you may potentially have against them if you went back to work for them even if they had made some considerations for your health?

Slept til just gone 11am and feeling better for it although still feeling a little beaten up - enjoyed sister's visit though which was nice. She seemed very much more relaxed with her b/f than she is on her own and he seemed to care about her a lot which I liked.
Back later and hope you all have a good day.
I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to break :D

Pap agree with CWTA do check with solicitor first. If it is ok then make that pro and con list.Being in a totally different team and work area seem to be a big pro as would the money.Sometimes its good to try something -if you cant manage it then is there the option to finish on ill health.
currently enjoying watching GS1 on web cam as DD2 is down babysitting him for few days. Its lovely seeing him crawling about like a maniac and into everything.DD2 is exhausted and taking it very seriously!!!
    hope
    everyone taking care

Don't have much to say, but I have been reading :)
Tonsilitis is keeping me pretty subdued and still difficult to swallow. I've contacted the GP to change my antibiotics, but can only get them tomorrow, hopefully my IBS won't be too affected by these in the meantime.

pap I think they have a point with the pros and cons list. The thing that swung me into submission (to not working) was realising how often I get infections/viruses that do/should stop me working. I realised that it wasn't sustainable for me or for my employer for me to go back to work, so I didn't fight when they (essentially) sacked me.

Can't remember anything from anyone else...sorry!
