  • Right, back at it. bz Don't panic - get a cleaner (or SIL) to come in for a day or so before the wedding and get them to sort it out for you while you make time for you. I think you may be underestimating the impact emotionally and physically of all that you've been through recently and you need to cut yourself some slack. To quote another esteemed thread poster "seemples" *g*
Do you have a loft or someone's garage you can pile stuff in to make the house look ultra good for the period of the wedding?
This is something that someone else's help could really make a difference with - will you ask for the help? Pretty please?

It's been far too hot to move furniure around and I'm over-heated, dehydrated, have a thumping headache and am in dire need of a shower. Got a beautiful piece of furniture in solid oak to play with for £32 though so I'm chuffed even if I'm rather soggy.

Lots of hugs to all who need them and special hugs to bz.

Once a little time has passed howzabout going back to the doctor and explaining to him how the wheelchair debacle has affected you and made you feel? It may improve his bedside manner a little and ensure no-one else has to suffer through what you have.

at least an appointment ahs been arranged. ring them every week to ask if there have been nay more cancellations, perhaps point out you can attend at fairly short notice if that would be possible most days. its a start to gettign it sorted, well done for chasing it so well.

Slightly better news, the referal woman listened to my pleas, esp when I mentioned the wedding date and kept her ear out for cancellations and rang me back with 21st July...not great but getting better...;)

You posted just as I did so I didn't see this - well done on sorting it out. Brave girl. :T

    Oh, this is not on.

Wound up in A&E again this morning with my jaw subluxated to one side. SO much fun, I think, or not. They gave me codrydamol, and it took the edge off, but not much more, apart from making me feel sick. X-rayed, relocated, sent me home. I still haven't slept, I look like someone gave me two black eyes, and I'm so tired and sore I could cry. I can't even eat anything beyond little bites of stuff because my TMJ musculature is still so sore I can barely stand to open my mouth.

Got an appointment with my GP to discuss a change of painkiller on Friday - DHC is not working for me anymore. As expected, but not this soon. :(

Ouch, Tria that sounds soooo very unpleasant. I hope you can get some sleep - not easy with this heat if you ask me - and can manage something to eat soon.

Good luck with the GP visit.

    Hello :)
    Can I join the group?
A bit of background...I'm 18, I'm off to uni in September to study law and criminology and I'm currently fighting DLA.
I have 'suspected although regularly confirmed' rheumatoid arthritis, spinal strain and am trying to get tested for fibromyalgia, although the doctor I saw proclaimed testing me was 'useless' as I'm already 'poorly enough'!

It gets me down alot, because some days it kills me to move at all. I also struggle because I don't have much support, my parents and I don't talk, so a support group would be really helpful :)

I play tennis when I can, a few times a week, usually in a lot of pain but I try to stay active. I love to cook, and read, and I'm learning Italian.

    So that's me...Hi everyone :)

Just popping in to say "Hi", this weather is just too nice not to take advantage of it. I meant to reply to this post ages, or should that be 'pages' ago :D but not had time :o.

Saucy - I was dxd with fibro and CFS at the start of my first year at uni in '94 (mature student tho' :p) on top of musculo-skeletal difficulties including a damaged spine and pelvis, plus neurologists arguing betwixt themselves as to whether I had MS(still unresolved).

I salute you for playing tennis to keep active when you can :T I have always thought it's a case of use it or lose it with fibro. I was in a wheelchair fo three years - but at present I'm managing on crutches. I would give my right arm for a game of squash - so it's just as well I am left-handed ;) but that aint gonna happen :(.

Anyway, I got my BA (Hons) in media studies including a 'first' in print journalism. I did an elective in criminal law and based my dissertation on the unjust reporting restrictions in rape cases - so it can be done, despite even a daily overdose of Tramadol (wrong prescription). I was awarded DLA, despite being at uni and I would just say to contact the Disabled Student Support section at your uni to make sure everything is in place for when you start - ground floor lecture/seminar rooms etc. Plus you can also get help with either a dictaphone or a person to take notes for you, and even a computer if it will help you. PM me if I can help with any further info.

Trialia - my symnpathies I know what TMJ is like (yet another symptom prevalent in FMS) - good luck with the GP and better pain management.

PCL - I will get those Gulf photos scanned in - promise :o.

LW - Hope you had a good solstice, the weather was carp here - so I was too painful in the joint dept to get out.

CWTA - I'm enjoying 'Daemon' and awaiting the boxed set of Charlaine Harris books:jfrom America.
Paparika - Hi there and welcome to any other newbies.

Looking forward to hearing from Suep again and hoping she has managed to enjoy herself.

To everyone else - hang on in there and enjoy the Summer.

    Hi all,
we got back yesterday around 2.30 pm and by 7.00pm I was in bed with a migraine, the worse one Ive ever had with flashing coloured lights and sickness. This morning Im in a bad flare, so Im not doing anything and probably wont try and catch up with the posts I missed just yet aS I cant concentrate and need to keep sleeping, I do hope everyones well though and surviving the heat.

I did enjoy most of the holiday although the first couple of days were rough as I still had that infection in my wisdom tooth and was upset about my Dad, they couldnt do the op, I found out the night before we went, Im not sure whats happening now but will ring him in a while.

Right , Im sure there was something else, but my brains gone dead, its nice to be back , I missed you all.

Hi petal, I was thinking of you all the time you were away and hoping you would enjoy yourself despite the sad news about your dad. I hope the weather wasn't too hot for you.

Don't worry about catching up - I never do :p - I've changed ISP's so have sent you my new e-mail addy. I'm at the end of the phone when you need me.

Nice to hear from you Unity. Yes we did have a good solstice thanks - it was windy and chilly here, although stayed dry.
I'll tell you what - you can have my share of this mega-hot sun. I have to grab the Factor 30 and a hat just to put washing outside!

Had to do some baking yesterday (no cakes in the tin = a not very happy Mr LW, and that will never do!) so the kitchen was like a sauna, but I managed to get it done, plus a quiche for dins. We can have the rest of that tonight, so nothing to prepare for dins today, hooray.

I have a couple of rather ripe bananas in the fruit bowl, so will turn those into ice cream, I think.

I should be doing the household filing, but there's a load of [STRIKE]carp[/STRIKE] frightfully useful stuff on the floor in front of the files, so I can't get to them. That's my excuse, anyway.

Hope everyone's having a good day today.
