Morning pc your up early
Today is a big day, 9am to see my gp, hopefully she has had a letter from the ra doctor and now knows what i have, if not she will when i tell her, booked a double appointment, printed off a leaflet for gp's so she can't hide from ignorance.. need this woman on my side to help me manage this. ooo need another sick note.
2pm meeting at the very local hotel (5 mins walk away - will give myself 20 mins for the walk) my bossess want to see what they can do for my return to work, letter of resignation typed out last night by OH (he has a way with big words) unsigned and ready to be signed if needs be.
Ohh what a day, i wiil indeed fill you guys in, wonders if i should print a copy of the spoons theory just to really rub it in to them. been sat on the bed thinking of all the things i wanted to say about fm, especially a good speach of all the times i was made to feel thick and stupid becuase i couldn't remeber how to do things, or forgetting to do things and the looks i'd get and those disapointed sighs.Life is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?0 -

pap Fingers crossed all goes well for you today - I'll send you good thoughts to bouy you up.
veggy It's cliche because it's true - people just don't know what to do or say and, to be frank, are scared! You may find if you are open and honest with them - in an unemotional way if you can - that those who are still worth having around you will stick around. One of the things with having ill health is people need to hear from YOU how to deal with it - whether that's right or wrong is a whole other can of beans. *g* Do stick around, lovely.
I cut my grass yesterday! I was just gonna strim the edges, but decided to do the whole thing. Knackering, but fun too *g* It's all part of my enjoying having a garden again.
I have to start cutting my steroids back to their usual dosage now after upping them to cover the move - I'm dreading it as I've felt soooo much better on the higher dose and have even been needing far less sleep.
Ah well, so be it.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -

Welcome home seaside
Hiya all the doctors went really well, it may have been because OH came in with me this time, she hasn't heard from the ra consultant yet, so we told her and handed her a leaflet that i printed off the net for gp's.
She accepted that ok this is what i got but tried to make it sound flippant, until i said we have been looking at this for the past week, explained how i felt (forgot to give her my list - doh)
Told her that i want to concentrate on me by taking a step back from working to start looking at me and managing me etc, and she agreed that this was good, i said that i am applying for DLA, asked about mobility she said i would need occupational health, said i had one already booked for the 15th July, and i left my blue badge application for her to sign
ohh and a sick note for another month stating my illness, and prescription for lots more drugs. she asked have i been referred to the pain clinic and i said no thats your job now, and this is where she implied that she and they see fm as psychological pain, but i said that now i have a name i can now look to manage it, and if i need to see pain clinic i will.
all in all, she was supportive of me in my quest for financial help whilst i quit work to concentrate on me :T
ignoring her comments, it sounded for a moment she was not going to believe that fm exists, but i made it very clear that obvouisy my symptoms have been around for years and confused with side effects of steroids for my uvitis which the gp's refused to support me with, some humble pie to be eaten now i think.Life is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?0 -

jamla i tend to tick other and write in long term sick, (or claim to be a housewife if thats an option depending on what its for), im not "unemployed" since there is a reason i dont work and i find, again depending what its for, assumptions are made if i tick that box.
pap well done, sounds like it was a more productive appointment than it would ahve been had you not managed to stick to your guns so well.0
