    (the spoon theory) http://www.butyoudontlooksick.com/navigation/BYDLS-TheSpoonTheory.pdf

Linked if anyone hasn't read it. i emailed this to the OH to read, made him understand being me, it's about lupus, but as we all know it could be about any of us with this type of illness Fibro, ME lups etc etc

Thank you for that. I sat here reading it through tears, I don't have fibro, but have heart failure with a limited life span and can get sooo depressed about it some times. So Thank you :A
I used to be me !! what happened

lw no she hasnt, which i think is part of the problem. she hasnt really got any experience of any sort of relationships, so has no evidence to base things on so she assumes according to what she has been told.

pap i think the spoon theory is great, it can be applied to so many things.

cwta im ok thanks, tired though, yesterdays sleeping for a decent length of time was a one of. oh well i have peace until 8 when my friend comes round. think im gonna do nothing till then.

veggeboy welcome, we dont all have fibro, in fact id nearly go so far as to say that despite the title we quite a few different but similar in some ways illnesses here. so stick around and jump in as and when.

Thanks Paparika. Yes, I'm well familiar with the Spoon Theory; I actually have lupus, rather than fibro, but many of the associated problems are very similar. And, as Unity has commented before, I'm now on the plastic disposable spoons.:p I still haven't found out who the Spoon Thief is..... I'm convinced we have one. When I do find out, I'm gonna smack 'em round the head with a wet kipper!:rotfl:

Veggyboy welcome to the [STRIKE]madhouse[/STRIKE] thread. I hope that the next tears you cry here will be tears of laughter. Quite a few of us have an insane sense of humour, and you're more than welcome to join in.

    awww don't cry :grouphug:

but do show it to friends who can't see or understand why you can't do things, because it can make life easier if people know what it is like to be you
Life is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?
  • veggyboy Sorry to hear about your situation. I understand that you may experience the same type of lack of energy etc that we all experience. You're certainly not alone here - we all swap laughs, tears and frustrations as well as pooling experience on how to deal with things emotionally and physically. I hope you stick around - you'll get plenty of support here and I hope your tears dry.

lw I always forget there are other Lupites here *g*
It's lovely pottering in the garden particularly when you're sharing it with your OH and it's so easy to overdo things when you're either enjoying something or feeling you are achieving something.

pcl Have a restful day then lovely, and I hope you have fun with your friend. Hope you get to the swings soon too!

Now I am sitting here torn between reading one of my new books (Yippee!) or getting off my arris and sorting out the living room. Ah well, I suppose there's time to do both of them today so long as I take the housework slowly.
Recycling collection is Wednesday and I am looking forward to clearing the spare room and garden of all the boxes used when I moved. Downside is I definately have to find places to put things *g*

Hellish humid today so I may wait til it's cooler this evening before attacking the edges of the garden with the strimmer.
    Have a peaceful day all.

    Hi veggyboy

    to everyone else.

I'm not feeling on best form so not saying much, but something's bugging me so I thought I'd ask you guys that are married/working - do you still get Incapacity Benefit? I can't remember if it's means tested and I'm worried we'll be without it when I get married...

  • bz Put your mind at rest sweetie - IB is not means tested - you only need to have paid enough NI Contributions to get it. Hope your mind lifts soon.

BZ Auntie Axe is quite correct; Mr LW works full time, and I still get IB, so stop worrying about that.

i hope everyone has a good day ;)

Sorry love, I don't know how I managed to misread that. I must have been too tired to comprehend things, either that or I'm just jealous that your job is taking you away from us
