  • dinomite? i tend to get bored of those games, i play them for a while but they dont take enough thinking about to keep me occupied for more than an hour or two. i like logic. did you manage to read btw?

I think I have slightly autistic tendencies as I like the repetitiveness of them *g*

pap I recently discovered frozen chopped onions - a godsend!! Saves my poor old hands and me cutting my fingers to bits.
I'm very keen to support local businesses like cornershops but not Spar shops etc with inflated prices!

Hope you all slept well - and are still sleeping.

I demand a little corner shop next to my home, that would be miles better :)

i love my corner shop, in fact part of the reason this house got chosen was because i missed the local corner shop so much that that was the deciding factor, well one of them when it came to a choice between two houses. its th eonly shop i dont have to plan to go to.

    bz sleep well today

cwta your up early again, whats planned for today?

i just heard that michael jackson died, hope he doesnt get raked through the coals in memory now over all the controversy years ago.
  • Morning everybody :)
Just had my doctors appointment cancelled, and was told I can't book another one until Monday morning, because my doctor can't be prebooked?!
I just want to arrange to see a specialist, but I'm pretty sure I have to go through my GP.

Feel so stiff and awkward today, it's horrible. Hope everyone else is feeling much better!!

Heard about M.J last night, around 11pm. It's so sad....God bless. Purple I agree, lets hope everybody lets him rest in peace.

awww SS hugs to you, my gp kept refusing to write to a ra consultant for me, kept telling me all i needed was physio, so when i next saw my neurologist, me n the OH begged him to write to someone, first he said my gp would have to, we begged really begged and explained for the past year she had refused and would he just this once do a letter, he agreed and thank god he did. The next time i saw my gp she had a cheek to say ohh good you have been in pain long enough!!! if i wasn't in so much pain that day i swear i would of got up and gone for her. Keep strong and chill out its the weekend, refuse to do anything and just laugh at all those silly !!!!!!s at Glasto this weekend in the mud
Life is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?

It is just the check up fee Toothsmith. I just object to paying it on principle really. I hate that I have to pay for anything that I would've gotten free when I was working (because of Working Tax Credits for being partially deaf) but now that I'm so much worse than "just" being deaf, I have to pay for everything because the system screws you over. I think it's ridiculous that on Income Support you don't need to pay for anything prescription related, but when you're on Incapacity Benefit - which is health related for crying out loud! - you have to pay for them! Sorry, rant over...for now ;) I object in this instance particularly though because I went back to reception after my visit with the dentist and they never mentioned that there was a charge required. The only reason I went was to get referred to the dental hospital - which I already knew would be necessary cos I'd been told so before - which they STILL haven't done. And the receptionist bird seems incapable of doing what she says she's doing/done. If they'd actually provided a flipping service I might be more amenable to paying...

Whatever the service BZ, the charge is a statutory NHS charge - like a prescription charge - and you owe it.

It's not the dentist who devised the system. He just has to work it as best he can. He might love to send his staff on customer care courses, or even employ better ones - but such is the funding of the NHS.

It's not made easier by having to chase payments either.
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.

i managed to loose the code/instruction manual for my sisters version of that game, so every time i forget and decide to try playing it again i cant :(im waiting for her to finish nwn 2 so i can borrow that instead.
Oh, you'l love NWN2. We have it installed on Mr LW's machine (downside of that being that I can't just go ahead and play it when I want to). Original NWN is installed on my machine. The other one we really enjoyed is Oblivion.;)

Oh, no, that really sucks! My surgery did that to me one time - I was not best pleased, as I'd specially arranged the appt on a day when Mr LW was there to take me. They said I could go next day (and see a male doctor:eek:), and I said I couldn't cos 1) I wouldn't have the use of the car, and 2) I freak out in the presence of strange males - ended up having to wait til 10 days later to see someone.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • Saucy Aww, bless you - terrible when that happens. Hope you manage to get an appointment on Monday.

pcl Did a Mystery shop in Falmouth this morning - I hate Falmouth; it never was the nicest of places, but half the shops have now closed down and it's looking dire and depressed.
I forgot for the fourth day running to take my paperwork with me to tax the car so will have to go out again later and do that. I even went and parked up at the Post Office as I was convinced I had put the stuff in my bag.
Pottering around for the rest of the day getting upstairs and maybe living room sorted and may treat myself to fishy chips tonight.
    What are you up to?

bz I think I may come and ram some sleeping tablets down your throat if you don't give them a go soon! - this is not good for you and the longer this really disturbed sleep pattern goes on, the more of a habit it becomes (inadvertently). We all need our rest so much more than most people.
    So nerrrrrrr *g*

It is sad that MJ has died - young too. At first I wondered if it was a hoax with the upcoming concerts - there have been so many outlandish stories about his life. Whatever you thought about his troubled self, he was a musical genius (like my fave Freddie Mercury) and there aren't many of the great showmen left.

  • Thanks everyone. In so much discomfort, I just can't seem to find a position to sit in.
LameWolf I love oblivion!! Got it for the PS3, it's brilliant. Started playing World Of Warcraft last night, too...I'm so cool :P
Paprika I've only seen my GP twice, after transferring from my old one. The new one is a lovely man, but he isn't ever too sure what to do, and really doesn't understand how much it affects me. I plan on telling him next time I see him, though!

  • Yay! Car is taxed and I'm sitting with the papers and a lovely cup of tea before getting going again.
