Let me get this straight.... she's in a temporary post, and they're firing her because she went for an interview? That absolutely takes the biscuit. What do they expect her to do - wait til the post comes to an end and then look for her next post??

Can she appeal on grounds of unreasonable firing? (Can't remember the proper phrase, but I'm sure you know what I mean).
    I know! Ridiculous isn't it?!
Daft thing is as well, is that with the type of management roles she works in/goes for the application to start date process seems to take at least 3 months and her current post is only 6months at most. Stupid people.

I think you might be right about the grass seeds or something...do you know what the ear cleaner thing was called Lw? Can you only get it from vets? Am I best taking them down there to get checked over? They're doing my head in and I wanna be sure they're not bringing fleas in (although I am 99% sure)...

  • I am on Dad's wife's pc, so just a quick visit with no chance to catch up with what's been going on.
Move went well and living in house so far is fabulous! I am getting better quality sleep than I've had for years!
Missing BB, but should be online again in about 10 days - seems such a long time to wait!
Missing all of you terribly, but am having fun despite being beyond knackered.
    Hugs to all of you.

    I've got a horrible migraine :(

How boring are they as well? (apart from the pain and discomfort and feeling like you're gonna puke!) You can't do anything, thinking is too hard so you can't do games and your eyes don't wanna work so you can't read or deal with the tele, and sound just hurts, so that also rules out tele and music.... there's just nothing to be done :(

Ta sue. :o I managed to get through it with no lights on while dusk set in outside, some diclofenac, cocodamol and tramadol! I am, of course, now rather spacey and the itches are starting to set in. Better that than the horrid pain I had before though.:o

    Wot she said :D

S/e we miss you too!! Come back to us and let us know you're alright please..?

On an aside point - does anyone know where I can get a cheap/reasonably priced shower stool/chair for mil2b? It needs to have at least the stool bit and some side arms - the back and cutaway-seat are optional. I thought one of you lovelies might have some ideas on where to find one...?

bz i usually end up witht he computer dimmed (you know like it does when it power saves for batteries) and keeping my head still and choosing websites which are not black text on white background. that sometimes makes being online with a migraine more tolerable. lying down invariably makes it hurt more for me, so bed isnt an option and i hate doing nothing.

cwta gald to hear your settling in well and thank you for popping on to let us know, 10 days is a long time, any neighbours got an unsecured wireless network you could borrow?

lw glad to hear your feeling better.

whitney went to the vets again yesterday, either she ate something odd or picked up a stomach bug. at least thats hopefully all it is, fingers crossed. she is enjoying being spoilt by being fed chicken and is keeping that down anyway.

cwta I am so pleased to hear that you are liking your new house and that you are sleeping better. Try not to overdo things now.

pcl I bet whitney is loving being spoilt with chicken. I hope she is better soon. My cats very rarely get anything other than cat food.

kass I hope you manage to get the house you like, despite the asbo. That is one way to keep your kids quiet : )

I am so enjoying my quiet weekend, I've taken the dog out on my scooter and we also went on a little excursion to the local shop for some fruit and a paper, Ive re-potted a couple of herbs and generally just rested and pottered around. Am now watching the festival on itv2.

BZ Im glad the migraines gone. My doctor took me off co-codomol when I was put on Tramadol ! It's funny how they all have different ideas about things isnt.

pcl I hope whitneys still keeping the chicken down

suep I'm not altogether convinced that the doc fully realises what I'll take all at the same time to make pain go away ;)

pcl hope the puddy-tat's better soon :)

Good news folks...we went to the Jewellry Quarter in Birmingham today and got our wedding rings designed and ordered!! WOOOOOOOO!!!! And even within budget!! :D :j We went round a few shops and they wanted a week with my ring, or a couple said they could do it in a day with prior warning, with prices (for mine) ranging from £150-£350 (which considering stupid Ernest Jones wanted 8 weeks(!!) with my ring for £870!! was already good going) and my original budget for both rings was £350. This guy did the wax mock ups in half an hour, for both of them, and now they're ordered with no need to keep my engagement ring and the wedding rings ready, matching (DF's having the same curve to his as mine has now, at the guy's suggestion), rodium plated and engraved, in2 weeks, for £325 for both :D  :TAm I the best or what?? ;)
