Afternoon all, Ive just woken up from an afternoon nap, I came too slowly and thought it was sunday morning, I was wondering why dh hadnt brought me up a cuppa, then I noticed I was dressed and it took me a few mins to work out why :rotfl:

Bz I hope Mil2b is a bit more like herself today
We didn't bother going visiting today. Her sister's come up from Birmingham to see her today so we've given ourselves the day off. We rang before, apparently she's a bit more awake today.

Cwta she wasn't sedated, no. She just had local in the area the drain was put in. She had to lie on her back for it, which she can't abide and is really uncomfortable on her back. Never fails to make her grumpy. (Oh and there's a little thing called Death stopping me talking to the aunt :o;))
Oh, and earthquake??? We had a thunder and lightening storm but no earthquake known to me..?

Molly's just found (from who know's where??) an old chew from a previous doggy resident and was attacking it in the garden... I've now thrown it away but she's still hunting for it. Buddy was too for a while  Should probably get them something like that, seeing as mil2b's not spoiling them rotten  Tell ya what though, they eat their dinner properly!

bz that doesnt stop you talking to her, it may stop her answering in any tangible way, at least i would worry if it doesnt :) a day of is good for ya and best time is when she has other company.

cwta earthquake? did we have one?

sue the best naps are always those we are confused about what day it is after.
  • bz I meant what pcl said about still talking to her. I did remember it's not long past the anniversary of her death. Think what she would have done or said in the circumstances - take your inspiration from her.

pcl There was an earthquake in Wales somewhere this morning according to teletext?!

sue You made me laugh about waking up wondering why you were dressed. I do that too *g*

I've got a whammer of a headache from spraining my neck I think, so I'm going to retire for a hot bath (with bubbles) to ease it.

Spoke to s/e and she sends all her love - she's even got some bits of furniture she's letting me have, including a singlebed! Bless her.

I know you did, I was yanking your chain ;) Besides, I'm no believer in talking to the dead...

Hope your neck/head is better soon :)

pcl I'd be worried too! :p

Went through the straggly invites that haven't been done today with DF. Seems I was right in thinking that they're straggly because he's not really bothered if they come  Course I've been saying this for a while...;) Meeting the caterers tomorrow, and it seems that I did put an allowance in the budget for a wedding car so we might go see that guys cars again tomorrow too :D Now to trying to find readings for the weddings...and trying to work out who on earth we'd have read them! DF's friends/usher people are either far too shy/underdeveloped in communication/dyslexic...hmmm....

  • sharon bless you. I do think you should cry when you need to - you need to let the feelings out and hopefully you'll find them easier to deal with when you've got the shock emotions out.
I wish I could do something/anything to make this right for you, lovely.
I love Matalan. It's so much better than any of the other shops like it.

Sharon I am so sorry your news isn't good. I can't even begin to imagine how your head feels. It certainly puts my worries and others into perspective :( Im pleased you had a good day out and a family photo is a lovely thing to do, I keep saying I will have a photo with my kids and never do as I hate to see myself
auntie axe is right [as always ;)] don't keep your emotions in, it may also be easier for others around you to know exactly how you are feeling each day. I'm glad you can come and talk to us and let us know how things are (((((XXX))))) I feel so helpless that all I can do is type a few words but cant help you in anyway :( XXX

auntie axe good luck with the move, I'm sorry I can't remember the exact day :o but I know its soon.

Sharon It sounds like you are coping very well considering everything your going through, just take it all at your own pace. Your lucky to have such a loving supportive family around you and making the quilt is a lovely idea for your dd.

Ive been on a holiday retail therapy trip this morning in Portsmouth with dh and my trusty scooter, I brought loads of cheap bits in Primark and a few nicer bits in my fave shop Next which wasnt so cheap  Dh only brought 2 pairs of shorts and some socks . He is now in the garden having a practise run of putting his new tent up that he got for the IOW festival as his old one went all mouldy last year, he got the tent up and now the dogs sitting in it and refusing to come out :D
Im going to try on all my new clothes and make sure they fit, I never try things on in shops.

cwta I hope your headaches gone today, how did you sprain your neck ?

  • raeh Missed you! Was wondering if you were OK. I think a family photo s a wonderful ideal - can you swallow your horror of photies to have one taken as it would be a lovely thing to have. I want one of me, Dad and Sister, but both of them refuse! I just really want one of the three of us together as Dad is 85 now ...
I move on Wednesday although pick up the keys on Tuesday late pm so will photos that day of it whilst it's empty and tidy!

sue Good for you with the shopping! I'm the same with not trying stuff on - too much faff and bother and takes too long. Dog in the tent made me laugh *g*.
I sprained my neck sorting out the tabletop freezer. I had to move it from bedroom onto draining board to de-frost and empty it. Apart from all the fibro-type stuff, I have arthritis in my neck from a car accident when I was 17 where I chipped a couple of vertebrae and ended up in a collar for 8 months! The painkillers for the other stuff take care of it most of the time, but when I try to do sommat like that, the lack of upper body strength means it inevitably gets pulled. It'll settle down in a day or so.

I've only just got up! But feel a lot beter for a sleep. Will just finish the kitchen packing today and have a bit of a rest.
Watched Slumdog Millionaire and Benjamin Button on DVD last night - anyone seen them?
