Just a quick mention to the knitters on here. I've posted a bit of interesting news on 'The Knitters' Thread'. For those who haven't read it the link is http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...1#post22215155 post number 2023.

It will certainly help anyone who wants good qulaity yarns at decent prices - without the pheck-ups made by some other yarn suppliers - sending out rubbish substitutes .

Sharon - What a great idea about getting the family photo done . I hope you will be putting it on Photobucket and sending us the link so we can see what you look like . I think I've only seen BZ, Suep and Trialia (although she was green at the time :D) so I have mental pics of other members, which means I'm probably way off. Of course a lot depends on their avatar so Raeh will always bring to mind someone who looks like Audrey Hepburn and CWTA - Liz Hurley ;). Mind you - on some threads they think I'm a bloke .

BZ - you'll probably find it very difficult to get a wheelchair, being one of the young 'uns - they'll want to keep you as mobile as possible. However if you find you are missing out on social interaction because you can't get out, get your GP to write again, explaining that it's as much about your psychological wellbeing as your physical. I had the opposite problem - I was told I'd be in one before I was 40 . Tbh - I loathe the thing as I'm short enough to start with and being in it makes me even smaller, add being deaf (it'll take about four months till I get my new aid for the left side) and I might as well not be there at all. Mind it is a laugh when other people assume you aren't fully compus mentis and address the person pushing you . It wouldn't be the first time I've heard "Does she take sugar?" asked of DH. We decided to go down the voucher route for the wheelchair as it meant I could get a light-weight model with suspension, as the bumps over uneven ground/cobbles etc. hurt more than walking. I still say I would never have got out of it if it hadn't been for getting a pair of MBTs http://www.swissmasai.co.uk/Default.aspx?lang=en-GB for me they are like walking on air and I find they do stop the shocks to my spine that I get wearing normal shoes. Skechers have brought out a cheaper model http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_ss_...refix=Skechers but I haven't tried them and so can't say if they are as good. I've had the MBTs for over four years and despite never being out of them, they're not showing any wear. Admittedly I can't walk very far - but even so they are remarkable.

CWTA - I saw Benjamin Button at the cinema and thought it was both poignant and wonderful :T. I haven't seen Slumdog yet, but I just got a 30 day free trial of Lovefilm.com so I've ordered it from there.

Sorry I am shattered today after a really bad night filled with nasty dreams. I feel like I have run a marathon through a rainstorm of boiling water . Does everyone else get over-sensitive skin on places like the inner forearms? It feels like a bad burn and I can't bear to touch it.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend peeps :T .

:rotfl:I'm exactly the same! I know I've not seen this particular one though - but the oldies..? I've no clue about them - I could've watched them 3 times and still not be able to tell you definitively if I'd seen them!

Unity I think you're right about the age thing, but they just pheck (thanks for that spelling :D) me off - just come out with it and say what you mean -if you don't want to "waste" your grant money on a young thing then say it, but don't make me out to be a fraud! It doesn't half get my goat.

Raeh glad to see you posting.

Suep I'm jealous of your Primark trip! I've been wanting to go for ages :(

Well I had some sad news today. While I was at the hospital (visiting mil2b, who, by the way, looks much better today) my dad tried calling me to let me know that my Auntie went to meet her Maker at midday. I'm sad that she's gone, and she won't make it to my wedding, but I'm glad she's not in pain anymore and when I was thinking about it before I realised that she's been battling various types of cancers on&off for the best/worst part of 20years :( She said when we saw her last summer (the weekend we got engaged) that she was ready to go home to Jesus. At least she's happy now.

  • bz It's hard when something like that happens - glad someone's no longer in pain but sad they aren't around anymore. I hope you can celebrate the good life she had and remember her when she was well.

I've looked at the MBTs Unity but the price put me off. However, I live in my crocs and FitFlops. I only got that skin feeling last year when I was photosensitive for a while but that was directly due to some medication that I'm not long any longer, thank goodness.

I'm faffing around like a headless chicken trying to work out what I'll need for the next couple of days and pack up the rest. Eek!
I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to break :D

bz sorry to hear about your aunt, poor lady 20 years of it.
glad that mil2b looks much better.

crocs oh how i love them, most comfortable shoes ever.

cwta good luck sorting it out, i dont envy you the task. try not to over overdo it though.

sharon sometimes i find playing either mindless repetitive games, or games i ahve to concentrate on therefore cannot think of anything else helps. or surprisingly colouring in.

Bz Im sorry for your loss ^^Wot she said ^^ sorry a bit over tired and brain dead at the moment.

sharon Do you think you can get your DH to give my DH a few tips on cooking, I get fed up with doing it all the time ;)
Have you tried reading a good book or watching a film to slow your brain down a bit ? or how about starting on that quilt.

cwta I hope you've sorted out what you need for the next few days and finished your packing.

pcl It rained last night but been quite nice all day, a bit cloudy at times but the suns streaming in the window at the moment (sorry dont mean to rub it in ) :D

    Thanks guys.:o

I was the same about the price on the MBTs Cwta, especially after I bought some Earth shoes (vaguely like this) back in my uni days and suffered for it big time!
I'm loving my Converse All Stars trainers that finally arrived last week and I'm gradually getting used to them being up round the back of my ankles :)

    Tria nice pic.

Sharon I do basically anything that requires logical and/or repetitive thinking/doing. Games like Tetris or Solitaire etc, or cross-stitch/latch rug making, or I'm with pcl on the simple art of colouring in. Hope you find something that works for you. (hugs)
