sue whats the worst thing that could happen if you wore the wrong thing or said something cringeworthy? does it make any difference to you and oh if they decide they dont like you or whatever? no...then you could turn up in pj's and act the fool and it wouldnt matter, thus it does not matter what you wear, or do or say. (but that is much easier to say than to remember and stick too, i still dont get it right every time even after years of forcing myself to stop worrying and think about whats important in any given situation).

bz glad the birth cert was found and the notice is done and sorted now.

unity good luck with every thing today.

s/e you havent been here lately, you ok?
  • Happy Birthday Ms Zippy!!!!!! I do hope that you have a wondeful day and can leave the recent trials and tribulations behind you today and relax and enjoy. Not to mention eat lots of cake *g*
raeh just seen about your Dad! Poor Man! Is he going to regain full use of his fingers? I hope so if he's a pattern maker.
sharon wonderful that you are home so soon and in the comfort of your own home where everything feels better I think. A night sleeping in your own bed certainly speeds up recovery I think and youhave all your things around you. Lots of hgs to you and I hope you're not in too much pain.
It is the most beautiful day here today. Sunshine and a clear sky, so I walkeds most of the way back across the island after taking a bus there - I'm not stoopid *g*.
Just as I reached the first cafe on the way back, one of the muscles in my leg went, so I was mighty glad to sit down and have a cup of tea and an icecream fr my lunch - one of my 5 a day as it was strawberry *g*.
Am shattered now and heading back to hotel for a sit on the terrace in the sunshine with my book.
Have booked my next excursion here - two weeks at the end of August. Camping  I've never been camping in my life! Should be fun.
I do, however, know one of the women who has moved to this island (St Marys) from Tresco to manage ne of the hotels, so I suspect I may be able to cadge a hot shower there is the weather isn't up to much. Shelter from any rain too!
My last day here today, so I was up early to watch the sunrise and have made the most of the tme left. Suspecxt I will sleep for a few ays when I return. Am wondering if along with doubling my steroids to keep me going, I'm the guilty one and had inadvertently swiped some of your spoons as you all seem to be suffering somewhat. I so, I promise to try to make up for it when I get back - not sure how. Perhaps the tale of when I lost my balance getting on a boat and went face first into the lap of a very nice looking young man. *g* I couldn't look at him for the rest of the trip. Yes, it was accidental, I swear!! *fingers crossed behind back*.

Talk to you all again from the mainland tomorrow.

    Hi Raeh,

I'm so glad to hear your dad should be fine after his accident - even though reading it did make my toes curl :o

Yes a good day for me, thank you :T The optician re-tested my eyes and okayed the monovision lenses. The doc doesn't need to see me for a month or so - unless anymore blisters appear. He said I'd be fine so long as I didn't snog anyone - so I have to say right now that much as I like you - you did not get that cold sore from me :rotfl:. I had fun at the 'Stitch 'n' B1tch' and then went to see 'Crank, High Voltage' so I have had my Jason Statham fix

I hope you get the chance to take some good baby pics and maybe let us have a look at your new niece?

Finally - I'd just like to wish everyone a wonderful Beltane/May Day  and hope the weather keeps fine wherever you are. I think I may go back to bed now for a second try at sleeping :rolleyes2.

    Here's to a long lie-in tomorrow ;).

Hi PCL, I got back to sleep, but I was still awake by 8.30 and up by 9 a.m.Still the weather is fine and sunny - it is gloriously warm - well in the conservatory anyway ;) and my cat is sleeping peacefully on my shoes in the knowledge that I can't go out without him knowing :D.

You would think that after a busy day like yesterday, I would have slept for a week - but it just doesn't work like that for me - if anything I end up hyper :(. Perhaps it was the Jason Statham fix that did it

One of the girls at the SnB is off to Elounda in Crete on Tuesday with her disabled mum and two young children (including a baby of five months ). She was happy to find, last week, that I had been there. I sent her an e-mail with photos and useful information on short cuts that didn't involve walking up hills and she said she is just going to print it off and take it with her! It felt great to be able to help someone, even if only slightly. Some of the short cuts we only found on our second visit, so at least they can make use of them straight away. Just looking at the photos brought back memories so vivid you'd think we'd only come back a couple of weeks ago - great since we haven't planned anything for this year - and can't do until we know if DS has a placement over the summer as we need someone to look after the cats. I know people will think we could put them in a cattery - but there is a) the cost and b) the upset - especially for the big 'yin as he's purely a house cat.

Anyway, must get on. DH has decreed a restful day for me as we don't want the shingles coming back again. For another, thing I just hate sitting around the doc's surgery - you never know what you'll catch :rotfl:.When I say "must get on" that includes knitting the cardi I am doing for DD1. I have the back and most of the left front done, plus the rib on the right front that I did at SnB last night because I didn't have to think about decreasing ;).

I also have to let DH 'borrow' the laptop to sort out a new fridge/freezer as our present one is on its last legs :( and the temperature keeps rising from -18 to -12 for no reason causing the audible alarm to really grate on my tinnitus  it owes me nothing since I've had it for nigh on 15 years.

Right - family weekend so may not be on here very much. Love to all and have a good weekend.

BZ - check your junk mail for a Jacqui Lawson card, it has been delivered, but you won't recognise the e-mail addy as I use a different one for that site.
