'Ello all.
First and foremost, as I'm likely not to be online after today til next Tuesday. Happy Birthday BZ. Yes iIknow I'm early, but I didn't want to miss it.:o
Thanks to everyone who has offered support re the do on Saturday - I just had an email to say it's been cancelled.:( Apparently someone objected, and despite the fact that they've had the event there in the past with no problems, the venue cancelled the booking.Jo had we still been going, Mr LW would have been with me - I need him to push the wheelchair!:p
Kass yeah, I've tried CBT and found it to be counter-productive. My problem is that people in general terrify me. I've been screwed over by so many people in my life that I find it almost impossible to trust anyone. Added to that, the fact that my own mother spent an awful lot of time and energy dinning into me the fact that I'm no use to man nor beast.Plus the carp that having lupus brings - I sometimes lose track of the conversation, and can't remember what's been said/what I've said.:eek:so I fear that people will think I'm stupid/mad/drunk. It's getting to the point that I even get nervous if I have to meet up with my best friend, a woman I've known for nearly 20 years.
I don't often see her, as she lives 40 miles away, but whenever we do meet up, I get major collywobbles worrying about it.
Unity I think there's a spoon-thief somewhere. They've swiped all my spoons, as well. We saw "The Uninvited" yesterday - it was good. Major twist at the end.;) I hope you got some benefit from your pain management appointment.
Raeh congrats on the new niece, but :eek::eek: how awful about your Dad. I hope he's OK and makes a good recovery.
PCL well done on surviving the fang farrier.
I'm sur there's more I was going to say, but it's gone clean out of my head. Back later if it comes back. Mr LW keeps sending me daft emails, which is great, and cheers me up, but does nothing for my concentration.:D
Hope you're all having a good and pain free day.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Yay I got my new laptop charger a while ago, so I am now online in comfort on the sofa with a blanket over my legs and a heat pad on my shoulder
Im still full of cold, but not as bad as I was.
raeh well you will never forget the day your neice was born will you ?
Your poor Dad, how is he ? my stomach turned over when I read what happened to him.
Unity Im going to do some Reiki after this, so will send you some distance healing. I hope your app went well today
LW Your let off the hook until next time then, enjoy Beltane :j
BZ When is your birthday ? sorry if you've already said.
cwta Im glad your enjoying your holiday
I cant remember what else I wanted to say, sorry if Ive missed everyone,Real stupidity beats artificial intelligence every time.

purplecatlover wrote: »it counts as a proverb kass, but i have no idea of the origins of most proverbs. you can tell horses age by their teeth so maybe something to do with that? This proverb is based on the fact that a horse's value is determined by his age, which, in turn, can be roughly determined by an examination of his teeth. The message conveyed is that a gift should be appreciated for the thought and spirit behind it, not according to its value. St. Jerome, who never accepted payment for his writings, first used the phrase in reply to his literary critics. His exact words: "Never inspect the teeth of a gift horse."
Jo well done on coming out fighting - it's hard to muster up sometimes, isn't it?
Careful thanks for keeping in touch
Seaside thanks for keeping us informed about Sharon
Pcl well done on surviving the dentist.I need to find a new, non-pap one actually...
Kass hope you get everything sorted out for the house. Lol @ your sister
Raeh congratulations on the arrival of your Niece! I have just read a book with a character in it called EdieDF read some posts with me last night and said "aw Edie's a nice name" so it must be good if it's got his seal of approval
And that's a big babby for 2wks early!! We also both exclaimed at the accident your dad had! what point in his finger(s) were they chopped?:o Congratulations, also, on managing to make that flipping appointment! Lol!
Unity I'm so sorry you're so symptomatic at the moment! Sounds horrendousThanks for the emailed link, I shall check it out when I'm back in wedding world and/or my brain's functioning
LW sorry your thing got cancelled. Thanks for the early Bday wishes.I'm with you on the spoon-theif!!
Raeh, Suep and pcl it's tomorrowI did indeed feel better after the hairdressers - if somewhat more pained! I was SO hairsore while I was there, but I'm pleased with the result....even if I am almost blonde!
Tria I don't think I've been able to get in Primark bras since I was 14I don't sleep 2/3rds of the day with Lyrica though - although it did have an initial effect til it settled down - do you take it regularly or just as and when?
Right I think I've caught up now... I think I'll do another post to tell you where I've been"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
Ok so I've been MIA for the last few days because....
On Saturday we had the big todo with Mil2b. Exhausting.
On Sunday I dragged DF with me to Manchester so I could go give the dress shop my measurements for my wedding dress. I also dragged him round jewellers asking about where/how I could get my wedding ring made...and actually found one DF wantsAt £170 it's not cheap, but it's not as dear as some of the others he was considering!!
We had to park far far away though, as there were roadworks stopping us getting to the closer carparks, and I didn't have a w/chair so I had to walk forever and was exhausted by the end of all the traipsing. I asked the dress shop to give me a swatch of the colour they'd be using though, and I only saw in the daylight after I'd left that it was bright red! NOT the purpley pinky burgundy type colour that it should be...so now I'm a tad concerned what they've ordered  When we got back from the big smoke I gently (;)) reminded DF that the lawns needed mowing, and of course ended up getting roped in too much and have been commanded to do nothing til Thur now...
On Monday I had an appt with the dietician (finally) re my IBs and controlling it. She had a few things to add to what I already knew so it wasn't a complete waste of time I sposeThe appt was at 11.30am though...which isn't the end of the clock I can cope with! And I hadn't slept particularly well, so when I got back I spent the rest of the day sleeping and eating/reading in bed
Monday night DF went to Mil2b's cos she'd asked him to come for a chat... they discussed everything more calmly, from what I can tell, again but she'd told him she wasn't happy about me telling her she'd been like a dumb insolent teenager (my finest moment
) and he told her that she was like one tho and he supported what I'd said 100%
Her sister is coming down in a couple of weekends time (coinciding with the first anniversary of their sister's death) and has vowed to go through everything with her and take her the docs and get her sorted....so we'll see how it goes...
On Tuesday I had the appt at the hairdressers...which took forever (about 2.5hrs?) and made me really hairsore and all the dye chemicals etc set my hayfever off worse, and I had horrid sinus pain for the rest of the day/night. I like the end result though, so farMakes me feel a bit more presentable too, and as I don't feel like I make enough effort with my appearance, for DF as much as anything else, it helps...:o Then my "best friend" came round last night, as she'd rearranged from Friday. She said something very odd while she was here , that she's been sneakily arranging me a Hen Do! This is the friend who was very sore about not being my bridesmaid/maid of honour... apparently I'm not to ask questions or arrange anything but she's been arranging with and contacting people to sort something out... very strange! And uber intriguing! ...I had been wondering why she was suddenly on my SIL's friend list on Facebook though... I told her just so long as she takes into account my very limited energy I'd let her get on with it...Eek! I'm hoping that she has actually asked SIL about it though, as I porbably trust her more to steer the friend along the right lines!
So, yeah, that's where I've been"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
incredibly busy bz i think doing absolutely nothing until thursday is a very very good plan now. fingers crossed the material just looks so bright because it is a small sample piece. now im dying to hear about the hen night plans, which hopefully wont be too overboard and will be early enough before the wedding to give you a chance to recover before the big day.0

raeh, that's awful about your dad  i get a funny feeling in my bum when I hear about anything like that. Both me and one of my sisters get it and everybody thinks we're weird
A friend of a friend had a motorbike accident a few days ago and his fingers got chopped off. They couldn't find his though so he lost them :eek:. Good news about your sister and baby. Bet your dead chuffed
My mates (back to me again ) daughter who I looked after as a small child so she is more like my neice, had her baby boy this morning. She took four minutes from her waters breaking to giving birth!! Her poor partner had just nipped to get coffee for him and my mate while the aneathetist (sp?) bent her over to give her the epidural. Next minute waters went and when he returned with a coffee in each hand, grandma was already holding the baby :rotfl: I can just imagine his face, bless him.
LW, that's a bit off cancelling like that! Are you gonna go to Thornborough now then? I was gonna go but I had forgotten that I'm supposed to be attending a surprise handfasting for my friends sister. Apparently Channel 4 are going to be there for some kind of programme on alternative weddings.
That's awful that you have had such terrible experiences, especially with your mum  I don't really know what to say.
bz, doesn't your fibro affect your balance? I'm terrible with it. Get a pic on with your new do!
Where's Auntie axe? I want to give her lots of big kisses and cuddles!!!! Thank you so much for the card, it was such a lovely thing to do xxxxxxxx0 -
Well I told her no less than a month from the wedding so I could recover and she said yes, that's what she'd arranged...? I have mentioned either just going for a meal or some kind of slumber party, so hopefully it won't be too OTT. I think the woman I saw in the dress shop thought i'd ordered it with a different colour...but I shall ring I think and double check what they've ordered...!"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0

BZ hel's teeth, I'm cream crackered just reading about what you've been doing! Good luck with the hen do; we shall, of course, expect a full account......:D
Kass no I won't be going to Thornborough. It's a 360 mile round trip, which is too much for me to cope with.
What's with people chopping their fingers off ? We were in the pub after the cinema last night, and one of the Young Farmers who drinks there has taken off the tip of a finger. :eek:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
