Fibromyalgia (part 2)

Oh man. Everyone's feeling under the weather today. I wonder if it's to do with the weather. Or perhaps just because we all have a nasty, debilitating condition...
Kass - you're not manic. The pain just drives you from pillar to post sometimes. Crying's an appropriate response I reckon...
Lamewolf - sorry you're so nervous about the weekend. Is there a good friend who can go with you who will help you escape if it comes to a point where you just can't stay? Is it shyness? Nothing wrong with being an introvert... Or is it partly that the noise and busyness is too much alongside the pain and tiredness? I go through the whole 'do I struggle around people because of the pain' or 'is the pain worse because I struggle to be around people?' Don't have an answer yet.
Tri - hope tonight goes better. I guess the PO just has to wait...
Right, I'm off back to work. Meeting this morning went ok - request for GP and DLA doctor's report and reconsideration has been sent off. Pain levels are up, but I'm quite pleased that the stress of the refusal hasn't sent me into full blown flare. Thank God for the swimming - 30 minutes a day when my body feels vaguely normal.0 -
I think LW is getting into one of those viscious circle type things so it's good that you keep going even when you don't want to love cos I think that would make things worse if you didn't. I wonder if this is where CBT comes in handy. Have you ever tried it?0
-
Yes Jo, it's good that you've not been sent into a proper flare but that might be something to do with you changing your attitude and deciding to fight. You go girl and don't forget careful is almost always around with her axe if you need a bit of extra something x0

Sorry people are feeling rough today for various reasons. Ugs to the damn lot of you.
The weather here has cleared up beautifully and I went across to Tresco today. The 20 min boat crossing was a bit rough, but I staggered/walked across the island and sat at the quayside in the sunshie for a while and feel nice and chilled now. That means that my axe is up for grabs to whoever needs it to slay deamons real/imagined or metaphorical.
I feel for you Unity in your struggle - I used to be painfully shy when I was younger and can still remember the crippling insecurity that goes with it.
Good luck to kass on the grant thingie(technical term) and massive hugs to all the rest of you that are finding life particularly dickyfluff to cope with.
Forgot to say yesterday (I think) that move is all agreed now - refereces etc have come back fine, so I may celebrate with some vino tonight and sod the suffering for it tomorrow!
Hope all goes well with reah's sister and that sharon is recovering fromn the latest trial and not in too much pain.
I'm missing "talking" to you lot! Still having to nip down to cafe, so hope that the broadband at the hotel is sorted soon. I suspect it may take as lon to fix as it does for raeh to make her docs appointment *g*I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
My sisters both suffered with shyness and one of them enrolled on an assertiveness course. She came home on the first night and said she had got to the door but was too shy to go in :rotfl:
I know I'm laughing at that but I'm not laughing at the condition or whatever you would call it. I know from my sisters that it can be crippling at times.0 -
i survived the dentist, and managed to stay there long enough for him to do what he needed to do today. im exhausted now though.
lw i knwo that the being tense around people and trying to hide it is exhausting, i find it exhausting wihtout any of the physical or fatigue issues, but dont give in to it. i dont know what to suggest for gettig round it, apart form keep going to things. speaking from experience it just gets worse, and then turns into a whole big anxiety problem to bring the mood down even more. what is it about other people that makes you nervous? people you knwo well or just people you dont know well? is it related to trying to hide the reality of how you actually are from people in the standard im fine way?0 -
Hi Suep, regarding the Reiki distant healing - yes please!
I didn't sleep at all last night, so watched all sorts of things on TV downstairs so as not to disturb Mr U with my reading. He was peacefully snoring away so it would have been awful to have interrupted that
.
LW - I can't see me making it to Thornborough at the weekend, I think someone's pawned all my spoons :rotfl:as they aint in the dishwasher - I've looked!
BZ - I'll e-mail you a link to the Search Press catalogue in case you want to look at those wedding books and maybe get them from the library.
Raeh - I hope everything went well with your sister - did she know the sex beforehand or will it have been a surprise?
Jo_King - good luck with the reconsideration, if you don't get a result - appeal and keep going until you wear them down .
Kass - I do hope you get the house you want, it will mean a whole new and positive start for you and the children :T.
I hope everyone is keeping as pain-free as possible.
Well, I have a review appointment tomorrow with Pain Management at 11 a.m., so I'm hoping to be able to get some sort of answer as to when I can have the facet joint injections again. Did I mention that as usual the appointment clashed with one for audiology . I now have to wait for another audiology appointment as I have become even more deaf since I got my hearing aid last August and think I'm going to need one in each ear now.
They've just mentioned on The One Show that it's 30 years this week since 'Hatcher Thatcher the Job Snatcher' came to power . Now there is one woman whose demise I will celebrate - probably with flags, bunting and a chorus of 'Hey ho the witch is dead'but I don't think I'll be in a minority - up here in the North anyway .
We made it to the cinema this afternoon, which involved about five steps from our house to the car and say another 20 into the cinema. 'The Haunting in Connecticut' is certainly one to keep you on the edge of your seat and since there were only six people in the whole place I was able to move around and not seize up, but then it is probably the last couple of days it will be showing. I still want to see 'Crank 2'; 'Let The Right One In'; 'State of Play' and possibly 'The Uninvited' - well it beats housework and as my grandmother used to say: "There's more people pass your door than come through it!"
I'll try and pop in tomorrow when I get back from hospital :hello:Some people hear voices, some see invisible people. Others have no imagination whatsoever

oh my ... where to start lol
its been a very long tiring day and im really needing my bed to try and relax so il try to remember all i need to reply to but i apologise if i miss things
firstly my sisters csection was put back to the afternoon as they had so many emergencies so whilst waiting for her phone call my dh arrived at school and got the office staff to find me as he needed to talk to me in person  when someone starts the conversation with 'now i dont want you to panic' what do you do?? yeah exactly! then he told me my dad had had an accident.... my immediate thoughts were along the lines of bike [he's a cyclist] and very large lorryit turned out he had cut his fingers off with the huge circular saw at work and was on the way to the hospital with fingers in ice!! hes been a pattern maker for over 40 years an only ever had one other accident 20 years ago!! he went in to surgery this afternoon and had things neatened up. His ring finger is far shorter than the other now
anyone want to get a cuppa before i keep going? make a sandwich?? this could be a long one
my sister was eventually taken to theatre at 2ish [she wasnt informed about dad til later lol, i didnt think she needed that to worry about]
my NIECEEdie was born at 2.20pm weighing 8lb 3oz and over 2 weeks early  unity yes we knew what she was before but only my sister and her dh and me and mum knew, it was a suprise for everyone else

sharon i hope are feeling ok and im glad that everything went okseaside thank you for keeping us informed and i hope you are much less hurty tomorrow xx
lw i know exactly what you mean about the tenseness and tress of going out, i hardly ever go out at night but for some reason i find it ok in the day light?
pcl well done for managing the dentist, i hope you are feeling more relaxed this evening
jo well done you for coming out fighting, just be careful not to be like me and battle on there til i collapse and am no use to anyone. i have everything crossed for you that it is sorted. It is much harder when you work as people just presume you must be ok if you can manage a job, they dont see just how hard it is for us day after day
kass get yourself slotted into one of those boxes, stand there and demand they help you  i hope its all sorted out for you soon , look after yourself whilst all this is happening xx
